Amazonis a multinational technology and e-commerce company based in the United States. It was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 and has grown to become one of the world's largest online retailers. In 2023,Amazon's market share in the United States reached 37.6%, dominating the online shopping space. WhileAmazoninitially focused on selling books, it now offers a wide range of products, including those related to charging.
Portable power stations have gained popularity in the USA due to their versatile applications. They serve as essential tools for emergency preparedness during power outages and natural disasters, while also catering to the increasing demand for off-grid and sustainable living, outdoor adventures, and remote work and travel. They offer a convenient and reliable source of electricity, making them a popular choice across a range of American lifestyles and needs.
Our method of ranking is slightly different due toAmazon's product categorization, which doesn't include a standalone category for "portable power stations." Instead, they are included within the "Outdoor Generators & Portable Power" category. We manually excluded diesel and gasoline generators, although they make up a small percentage and are environmentally polluting. In fact, we conducted a ranking of portable power stations onAmazonUS approximately a year ago, with Jackery got four positions. Has there been any change since then? Let's find out. The statistics for this ranking were collected on October 16, 2023, and the product prices, ratings, and review counts are as of that date.
The top spot on this list goes to the MARBERO 88Wh PortablePower Station. This product jumped from sixth place in the previous ranking (October 2022) to first place. It offers a maximum USB output of 18W. Interestingly, this is the only product on the list priced below $100 and lacks an LED display. If you're going on a short camping trip with a friend or two, this is an excellent choice.
Taking the second spot is a product from Jackery, known as the Jackery PortablePower StationExplorer 300. We've mentioned this product in previous reports;you can check it out here. It offers better performance than the first one, with a USB-C output of up to 60W, making it suitable for outdoor use with laptops.
3, Jackery Solar Generator 1000 with 2 100W Solar Panels
In the third position is another Jackery product, the Jackery Solar Generator 1000 with two 100W Solar Panels. It may seem pricey, but as the name suggests, it includes two 100W solar panels. The generator itself is priced at $999. However, note that its USB-C port has a maximum output of only 27W. If you prioritize USB-C output, you might prefer the Explorer 300.
The fourth spot is taken by the GRECELL Portable Power Station 300W (Peak 600W). This unit offers a USB-C output of up to 60W, and, as the name suggests, its surge power can reach 600W.
In fifth place is a product from another familiar brand, EcoFlow, known as theEF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station DELTA 2. With an impressive 1800W AC output and 100W USB-C output, it takes the performance crown in this ranking.
The sixth spot is also occupied by EcoFlow with the EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 2 Pro. It provides AC and USB-C outputs of 1600W and 100W, slightly lower than the DELTA 2 but comes at a more budget-friendly price, $400 less. If you want high performance without breaking the bank, this one's for you.
Ranking eighth is the RIVER first generation. While its performance may not match the earlier EcoFlow models, it offers better capacity and output than the most affordable options. It's also the second least expensive option on this list. If it were my money, I'd choose this one.
Claiming the ninth spot is the Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240. It offers balanced performance, but notably, it's the only product on this list without a USB-C port.
Last but not least, we have the BLUETTI Portable Power Station EB3A. It provides a USB-C output of up to 100W and is the only product under $300 with this feature, making it a great choice for those who value fast PD charging.
Over the past year, the previously dominant Jackery has decreased its presence in the rankings, down to three products, while EcoFlow has surged from one to four products. Their product lines now cover entry-level, mainstream, and high-end options.
In terms of pricing, there are two products priced below $200, suitable for short trips or brief camping adventures. In the $201-$300 range, there are five products ideal for small family outdoor activities. The higher-priced products are suited for outdoor enthusiasts who engage in extended camping and outdoor activities.
In terms of storage capacity, there is only one product with less than 100Wh, suitable for short-term use. Six products fall within the 100Wh-400Wh range, suitable for the average user. The remaining three products offer over 400Wh, catering to users who want to power multiple or high-power devices.
Regarding AC output, one product falls in the 0-100W range, primarily suitable for fans, GPS devices, or charging phones, tablets, and laptops with charger. Two products in the 101W-300W range are suitable for low-power appliances like portable refrigerators. Four products in the 301W-600W range can power a wider range of devices, while three products with over 601W output can handle high-power devices like electric kettles, hair dryers, and even coffee makers.
