Shuangjing Station is one of the subway stations with the greatest transfer pressure in Beijing during the morning rush hour. Beijing Subway alleviates the pressure of passenger flow at twin well stations by opening empty trains, adding diversion fences and other measures. Since the implementation of the measures for more than a month, the queuing time of twin well stations in the morning peak hours has been shortened by about 10 minutes.

In order to relieve the pressure of passenger flow, a group of empty trains from twin well stations will be opened at around 8:20 on the outer ring direction of Line 10 in the morning peak to further shorten the waiting time of passengers. Since the trial operation started on March 19, the on-site application effect and passenger feedback are good, which can save up to 10 minutes of waiting time for passengers.

Hu Bin, deputy head of Guomao Station, said that the empty train from Shuangjing Station can carry about 1000 passengers on the platform at most. In order to facilitate passengers to get on the train, this empty train stops at Shuangjing Station for a longer time than other trains. Before the empty train arrives at the station, the flow restriction measures of the transfer channel in the station will also be slightly relaxed, so that more passengers can catch up with this empty train.

It was observed that after the empty train passed, the backlog of passengers on the platform was completely cleared, and passengers arriving at Shuangjing Station later could get on the train almost without waiting.

At the same time of running empty trains, the twin well station also improves the transfer efficiency by setting prompt lines and moving fences on the platform. When there are many waiting passengers waiting in line, a total of about 20 meters of mobile fences will be set up in the transfer channel of the north and south station halls, and special personnel will be arranged to guide them to improve the transfer efficiency. In order to prevent passengers from accumulating at both ends of the platform to wait for trains, a diversion fence of about 5m is added at both ends of the platform. During peak hours, the staff will guide passengers to wait in the middle of the platform.

Beijing Metro reminds that for the sake of passengers' travel safety, Shuangjing Station will still take flow limiting measures in due time according to the passenger flow during the period from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on weekdays, and passengers are requested to cooperate with on-site guidance measures.
