During the holiday, tourism traffic will operate at a high level, and suburban scenic spots, urban parks, large business districts, etc. will become travel hotspots, and the traffic pressure on surrounding roads and some traffic stations will increase; The traffic flow around large events such as auto shows, ball games and performances is concentrated; Each expressway will also usher in the peak traffic flow, and the traffic safety risks are relatively prominent. In order to effectively guide citizens to travel in a safe and orderly manner, the Beijing Traffic Management Department announced the road traffic flow prediction and congestion prone sections, accident prone sections, and issued road traffic safety tips during the May Day holiday.
Holiday traffic hotspots and sections prone to congestion
（1） There will be tidal flow of vehicles leaving Beijing in the morning and entering Beijing in the afternoon on the expressway
It is expected that in the morning of each holiday day, the traffic pressure of Beijing Tibet, Beijing Chengde, Beijing Hong Kong Macao, Beijing Shanghai, airport and other expressways and some national highways going out of Beijing will increase significantly, including Badaling section of Beijing Tibet expressway, Jianxiangqiao Shangqingqiao section, Wangheqiao Suanzaoling bridge and Miyun section of Beijing Chengde expressway, Dawayao bridge of Beijing Hong Kong Macao expressway to Liyuan bridge of Fangshan, Yuquanying bridge of Beijing Kaifeng expressway, The sections from Shibalidian to Caiyu of Beijing Shanghai Expressway, from Siyuanqiao to Dashanqiao of Airport Expressway, from Shayang Toll Station to Louzizhuang Bridge of Beijing Lishui Expressway, as well as the sections from Wanghe Bridge, Jianxiang Bridge, Laiguangying Bridge, Jianting Bridge and other ring roads intersect the expressway, have a large traffic flow at the bridge nodes. The peak period is expected to be from 7:00 to 12:00, and the traffic pressure will be more prominent on May 1, 2 and 3.
In the afternoon, the traffic pressure in the direction of Beijing Tibet, Beijing Chengde, Beijing Hong Kong Macao, Beijing Shanghai, Beijing Kaifeng, airport and other expressways entering Beijing will increase. The traffic pressure will be prominent from 13:00 to 20:00 on May 3-5. It is expected that the traffic pressure of Beijing Tibet expressway from Kangzhuang Bridge to Chenzhuang Bridge, from Huilongguan Bridge to Shangqing Bridge, from Beijing Chengde high-speed Qilinlou Tunnel to Simatai Flyover, and from Yangyan Bridge to Wanghe Bridge, The road sections from the toll station of Beijing Hong Kong Macao Health City to Fangshan Liyuan Bridge, from the entrance and exit of Zhoukoudian Road to Dawayao Bridge, and from Xueying Bridge to Tiangongyuan Bridge of Beijing Kaifeng Expressway have large traffic volume.

In addition to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Jingshan Mountain, Beihai, Longtan Lake, Yuyuan Pool, National Botanical Garden, Summer Palace, Zoo, Fragrant Hill, Tanzhe Temple, Dajue Temple, Phoenix Ridge, Badaling, Juyong Pass and other traditional scenic spots, eight places, Canal Forest Park Urban Green Heart Forest Park, Shidu, Yeya Lake, Shiyuan Park, Baili Gallery, Longqing Gorge, Tianyun Mountain, Shilin Gorge, Pinggu Peach Blossom Sea, Miyun Reservoir, Black Dragon Pool, Gubei Water Town and other scenic spots, as well as the surrounding online red card printing places, beautiful riverway valley and other non tourist scenic spots, waterfront viewing platforms, etc. will also become hot spots for holiday travel.
Special tips: From 0:00 on May 1 to 24:00 on May 5, vehicles are forbidden to pass on the east side of Tiananmen Square and the west side of Tiananmen Square, and passing vehicles can bypass Zhengyi Road and West Road of the National People's Congress Hall.
From May 1 to 5, from 7:00 to 19:00 every day, Nanxincun Street (Hongfeng Road to Xiangshan South Road) in Haidian District is forbidden to drive from east to west.

The 2024 Beijing Auto Show will be held from April 25 to May 4. The public day of the exhibition will run through the "May Day" holiday. There will be a large number of visitors to the Shunyi Hall of the International Exhibition, and the traffic volume of the surrounding roads and the airport expressway, Jingmi Road, Jingcheng Expressway connecting the urban area will increase significantly.
From April 25 to May 4, from 6:00 to 18:30 every day, Yudong will route from the intersection of Tianbei Road and Yudong Road (not included) to Gate 6 of Shunyi Pavilion, and Yufeng will route from the intersection of Tianbei Road and Yufeng Road (not included) to Gate 4 of Shunyi Pavilion. Except for vehicles with "Auto Show" special license issued by the Organizing Committee, no other vehicles are allowed to pass and park. No motor vehicles are allowed to park in Anyu Street, Yu'an Road, Yufeng Road around P8 social parking lot, Yuxi Road and Guihua South Road around P9 parking lot.
You can choose subway, direct bus, online car hailing and other ways to go to the exhibition. Please buy tickets in advance, plan travel time and route, avoid peak hours and multi car sections, and select subway travel.
（4） Short term traffic concentration on surrounding roads for ball games, performances and other large-scale activities
On the evening of May 5, a football match will be held in the Workers' Stadium. It is expected that from 18 to the start and after the game, the traffic flow will be concentrated in Gongti North Road, Chaowai North Street, Sanlitun Road, Xindong Road, Gongti East Road, Dongsishitiao Bridge Area, Chunxiu Road and Gongti West Road. At the end of the show, taxi, online car hailing or delayed arrival due to slow road travel are recommended to take the subway from Dongsishitiao Station and Tuanjiehu Station.
On the evening of May 4 and 5, performances will be held in the National Stadium; On the evening of May 4, Wukesong Stadium will hold performance activities; On the evening of May 1, a performance will be held in the theater of the exhibition hall. On the evening of May 1 and 2, Tongzhou City Green Heart Forest Park will hold a music festival; In the evening of May 2-4, a music festival will be held at the flight camp of Yanqing Shiyuan Park. During the holiday season, large business circles such as Chongwenmen, Wangfujing, Qianmen, Xidan, Jiamao, Malian Road, Joy City, Wanda Plaza, SOHO, Qinghe Colorful City, Jinding Street Xilongduo, Vientiane Hui, and new hot business circles such as Changping Heshenghui will appear on the surrounding roads, where traffic will gather for a short time and queue up to enter the parking lot, affecting the traffic.

It is expected that the surrounding roads of "seven stations and two yards" will be lined up with vehicles. In previous years, the passenger flow of Beijing West Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station is relatively large. There are subway and bus lines around the station. It is recommended to take subway and other public transportation when arriving or leaving Beijing.
Road sections with frequent traffic accidents
According to the traffic accidents during the May Day holiday in recent five years, the main characteristics are as follows:
First, Chaoyang, Changping and Haidian accounted for a large proportion of minor accidents, while Miyun, Daxing, Changping and Shunyi accounted for a large proportion of fatal accidents.
Second, minor accidents accounted for a large proportion between 8:00 and 12:00 and between 14:00 and 18:00, and fatal accidents accounted for a large proportion between 9:00 and 12:00, 13-17 and 19-22.

4. In the mountainous area of the scenic spot, slow down and guard the road, and pay attention to avoiding risks. During the holiday, there are many vehicles in suburban scenic spots and mountain roads. 5. The bus operates in compliance with the law and takes regular vehicles. Before departure, the passenger driver should remind passengers to fasten their seat belts, and should never solicit passengers outside the station, overload passengers, or illegally load goods.
