There will be a three-day holiday from April 4 to 6, during which the tail number of motor vehicles is not limited, and the expressway is free of passenger car tolls. The three days of the holiday are the peak days for sacrificial sweeping. In addition, the warmer weather and the strong travel demand for outings, some cemeteries, cemeteries, parks and scenic spots are surrounded by concentrated traffic, and the expressway will also usher in peak traffic. In order to effectively guide the citizens to travel safely and orderly, the Beijing Traffic Management Department announced the road traffic flow prediction and congestion prone sections and accident prone sections during the Tomb sweeping Day holiday, and issued road traffic safety tips.
Holiday traffic hotspots and sections prone to congestion
（1） Expressway will usher in traffic peak
During the holiday, some sections of Beijing Tibet Expressway, Beijing Chengde Expressway, Beijing Xinjiang Expressway, Beijing Hong Kong Macao Expressway and Beijing Kaifeng Expressway will have concentrated traffic flow. It is expected that there will be peak traffic flow in the direction of leaving Beijing from the morning to noon on April 4 and 5, and peak traffic flow in the direction of entering Beijing from the afternoon to evening on April 5 and 6.
In terms of road sections, the Beijing Tibet Expressway Badaling to Juyongguan and Xiguan exits, the Beijing Chengde Expressway Wangheqiao to Suanzaoling Bridge, the Beijing Hong Kong Macao Expressway Dujiakan and Changyang sections, the Beijing Kaifeng Expressway Yufa, Yuquanying and other sections, and the Wangheqiao, Jianxiang Bridge, Laiguangying Bridge, Jianting Bridge and other ring roads intersect with the expressway at the bridge area where the traffic pressure is high.

April 4, 5 and 6 are the peak days for sacrificial sweeps. According to the prediction of the civil affairs department, the number of sacrificial sweeps will increase in 2024 compared with previous years. The traffic flow around Babaoshan area, Wanfo Overseas Chinese Cemetery, Taiziyu Cemetery, Tianshou Cemetery, Foshan Cemetery, Jinshan Cemetery, Futian Cemetery, etc. will increase. Chaoyang Cemetery in Chaoyang District, Longquan Cemetery in Changping District, Jiulongshan Cemetery in Huairou District and other places have less parking space, and the parking pressure is further increased, which will have an impact on the mass sweep activities. In addition, the access road to Jinshan Cemetery in Haidian District is narrow, and the driving conditions of some mountain roads are complex, so acts such as rushing and retrograde may cause danger.
The cemeteries and mausoleums in Babaoshan area are relatively centralized, and the traffic management department has coordinated to open multiple parking lots around. The south gate of Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery is closed. Vehicles making an appointment to visit the cemetery should enter from the West Third Gate and exit from the West Fourth Gate. The cemetery should drive in a one-way counterclockwise direction; From the north section of Shangzhuang East Street to the intersection of Lianggong'an, temporary traffic management measures will be taken for one-way driving from south to north in due course.
In addition, on April 4, 5 and 6, from 7:00 to 19:00 every day, only 7 (including 7) passenger cars are allowed to drive in the direction of Jinshan Cemetery in Haidian District, and other vehicles are prohibited to drive in the direction of Jinshan Cemetery; From 7:00 to 16:00 every day, vehicles are not allowed to drive from west to east on Taitoucun Road, Haidian District (the section from the entrance of Lanmengzhuangyuan Community to Changanyuan Road).
（3） Some parks hold flower appreciation theme activities, and landmark scenic spots are popular
Xiangshan, Yuyuantan, Zoo and other parks are hot. Landmark scenic spots such as Jingshan, Beihai, Nanluogu Lane, Houhai, and Gulou in the urban area are close to each other. The traffic flow of surrounding roads is intertwined with each other. In some sections, the traffic flow is concentrated. The passenger flow to landmark scenic spots, urban parks, Badaling, Hongluo Temple, Tanzhe Temple, Gubeishui Town and other suburbs is still large, The surrounding roads of the park and some expressways such as Xiangquan Huandao, Xizhimenwai Street, West Third Ring Road are concentrated, and the traffic pressure is relatively prominent.
Special tips for citizens who go to Xiangshan District: From 7:00 to 19:00 every day on April 4, 5 and 6, Nanxincun Street (Hongfeng Road to Xiangshan South Road) in Haidian District is forbidden to drive from east to west.
（4） Some large-scale events will attract a large number of passengers
On April 5, a football match will be held in the Workers' Stadium; From April 5 to 6, performances will be held in Wukesong Stadium; On April 6, a performance will be held in the National Stadium. In the near future, many performances will also be held in the National Grand Theater, Beijing Concert Hall, Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Exhibition Hall Theater, Flyover Area, National Library Arts Center, Sanlitun Area and other areas. Before and after entering the venue, the roads around the venue will have a lot of short-term vehicles and a large flow of traffic. The parking resources around the venue are limited. It is recommended to take public transport to watch the games and perform.
Road sections with frequent traffic accidents
According to the traffic accidents during the Qingming Festival holiday in recent three years, the main characteristics are as follows:
First, fatal accidents occurred frequently in some regions, of which Changping, Shunyi and Huairou accounted for more than half.
Second, the time of occurrence is relatively concentrated, especially on the first day of the holiday.
Third, speeding and drunken driving caused serious disasters, accounting for 60% of the deaths in accidents. Accidents caused by failing to give way as required were also prominent.

Road Traffic Safety Tips
1. Plan ahead and travel reasonably. Pay attention to the weather and road conditions in advance, and reasonably plan the travel time and route. Before driving, check the safety condition of the vehicle and the accompanying tools to ensure that the vehicle is in good technical condition.
2. Law abiding and safe travel. Ensure adequate sleep before driving and avoid fatigue driving; When driving, all personnel shall fasten their seat belts throughout the whole journey, and illegal behaviors such as drunk driving, speeding, super strong driving, distracted driving, etc. shall be avoided; When riding a motorcycle or electric bicycle, you must wear a safety helmet throughout the ride.
3. Calm down and travel steadily. In case of road congestion, we must refrain from impetuosity, do not blindly overtake and merge at will, and do not occupy the emergency lane. The traffic in Shijingshan, Changping, Haidian and other cemetery areas where cemetery parks are concentrated is increasing. Please make an appointment in advance to visit the cemetery, avoid the peak travel time, and obey the command of the on-site traffic police and cemetery management personnel. In case of rainy weather, reduce the speed and lane change overtaking to ensure driving safety.
