As the "Great Wall" train on Line S2 has super large windows, it has attracted a large number of silver haired people to travel in groups and enjoy flowers by the window.

March 30 and 31 are the best viewing period for spring flowers to bloom, and Line S2 will usher in peak passenger flow. In order to better meet the needs of citizens for outings, Line S2 will open 4 more pairs of trains in the three weekends before and after the Tomb Sweeping Day, with a daily number of 11 pairs of trains. At the same time, Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area has also introduced new ways to study the culture of the Great Wall, watch the traditional performances of old Beijing, and travel to take photos of Han costumes.

At 8:00 a.m., at Huanghudian Station, the departure station of Line S2, the citizens who came to take the small train were chatting, most of whom were old people playing together.

"This line is very good. Elderly people will not be too tired to take a bus to see the Great Wall and enjoy flowers along the way." Ms. Zhang Ruiqin, 70 years old, is looking forward to it. They are a group of 20 people, the oldest of whom is 80 years old. "We always take a bus to Yanqing Station, get off and go to Liugou Folk Village to see the new rural construction, and then taste the tofu feast."

Line S2 is the first suburban railway in the city and in China to be put into operation. At present, the line is from Huangtulian Station to Yanqing Station and Shacheng Station in Huailai County, Hebei Province. There are 6 stations along the line, namely Huangtulian Station, Nankou Station, Badaling Station, Yanqing Station, Kangzhuang Station and Shacheng Station.

At 8:40, the "Great Wall" train with white body started slowly. "As a tourist route, the train is equipped with super large windows, which can provide a panoramic view of the spring scenery." Chen Zhihui, the conductor of No. S201 train of Beijing Passenger Transport Section, kindly introduced to the passengers that the train has the most beautiful scenery from Nankou to Juyongguan Great Wall. The section through Huahai is located on the uphill, and the speed should drop below 40 kilometers per hour, which is just convenient for everyone to watch.

Sure enough, after passing Nankou Station, as the train entered the valley, peach blossoms and apricot blossoms on both sides of the mountain were blooming. Seeing this scene, passengers held up their mobile phones to take photos and punch in.

Experience the "herringbone" railway turning to operation

In addition to enjoying the scenery, when taking Line S2, you can also experience the train turning on the famous "herringbone" railway and appreciate the charm of Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway for a century. On the return train, through the window, you can see the style of the century old Qinglongqiao Station and the bronze statue of Mr. Zhan Tianyou, the "father of Chinese railways".

It is understood that at present, each train on Line S2 is equipped with an interpreter, who will give free explanations along with the train, introducing the best tour route, return train times, shuttle information, etc.

Four additional pairs of trains will be opened at weekends before and after Tomb Sweeping Day

In view of the peak passenger flow during the flower season, the railway department tapped the potential capacity to increase the number of trains on Line S2.

Yin Bo, Deputy Manager of the Operation and Development Department of Beijing Railway Integration Development Group Co., Ltd., introduced that from March 15 to April 15, Line S2 will run 7 pairs of trains every day, especially during the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday (April 4-6), three weekends before and after the Tomb Sweeping Day (March 23 and 24, March 30 and 31, April 13 and 14), and will temporarily run 4 pairs of trains on the basis of the original 7 pairs of trains.

In addition, the station is also being optimized and reconstructed. Among them, as the starting and ending station of Line S2, Huangtulian Station sets canopy and cloister in the square in front of the station; The heating and cooling equipment will be added in Badaling Station, and the passage will be widened at the ticket entrance and exit, and the gate will be added to facilitate the rapid entry and exit of passengers.

Badaling Scenic Area Launches New Ways to Play Culture and Tourism

Take Line S2 and get off at Badaling Station, then walk several hundred meters out of the station to reach the Dengcheng Pass of Badaling Great Wall. You can walk 1.1 kilometers from Badaling Station to Badaling Great Wall Station of Beijing Zhangjiakou High speed Railway, facing the Badaling Great Wall Cableway to the city entrance. You can also walk about 200 meters to the Great Wall Museum, Zhan Tianyou Memorial Hall and other scenic spots.

The railway department cooperates with Badaling Culture and Tourism Group to launch new cultural and tourism products, including studying the culture of the Great Wall, watching traditional performances in old Beijing, and taking photos in Chinese clothing.

There are many scenic spots around the S2 line station. At Nankou Station, passengers can walk to the CPC Nankou Special Education Base, the former office of Zhan Tianyou and other places after getting off the bus, or transfer to the Juyongguan Great Wall by bus; At Yanqing Station, tourists can visit the surrounding World Park, Longqing Gorge, Wild Duck Lake and other scenic spots after leaving the station.
