During the Spring Festival in 2024, more than 100 museums in the city will open for visitors. Among them, the Chinese Archaeological Museum, the National Museum of Classical Books, the Beijing Art Museum and other museums are not closed on New Year's Eve, and the whole holiday is open. Focusing on the central axis of Beijing, the Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritage organized various heritage sites to launch a special activity themed "Celebrating the New Year on the Central Axis". During the Spring Festival, citizens and tourists can not only enjoy the 2024 Spring Festival Dragon Dance and Lion Dance activity of "Celebrating the Prosperity of the Dragon", but also visit museums and attractions such as the Palace Museum, Beijing Museum of Ancient Architecture, Temple of Heaven Park, and Beijing Square, watch the Spring Festival cultural exhibition, and participate in activities such as "praying for the central axis" and "lighting the central axis".
The Capital Museum will launch five major exhibitions, one in the west and one in the east, to present gifts to the audience during the Spring Festival.
