On the basis of introducing many measures to improve the station bus environment in 2023, Beijing Metro Corporation will continue to promote various transformation projects in early 2024, and improve the passenger travel experience through a series of small transformations.
The entrance and exit are warmer
Following the installation of thermal insulation facilities outside Shahe Station and Tiantongyuan Station, 23 hot air curtains have been installed at the entrances and exits of Beijing Station D and Xizhimen Station of Metro Line 2 and Liufang Station A and B of Metro Line 13 recently, making the ride environment more warm and comfortable.
At present, a total of 11 sets of equipment in Xizhimen Station and Liufang Station have been put into use, and the equipment in Beijing Station is under commissioning and will be put into use in the near future. The company will continue to pay attention to the use effect of the hot air curtain machine, and do a good job in the follow-up optimization and improvement work according to the feedback of passengers.
There is no "obstacle" in the station
Since 2023, Beijing Metro has continued to optimize and improve the barrier free environment, and completed the upgrading and reconstruction of 19 stations and nearly 4000 meters of blind tracks on Line 2 and Line 10.
In view of the need to adjust the position of the blind track after the installation of platform doors on Line 2 and the optimization of passenger transport organization of some stations on Line 10, more than 10000 blind track bricks were comprehensively inspected and optimized to ensure the accuracy of guidance and the comfort of walking. Beijing Metro has also carried out continuous maintenance and repair of barrier free facilities throughout the road network. A total of 247 barrier free ramps and 249 handrails were maintained throughout the year, creating a more friendly and convenient riding environment for passengers.
In order to facilitate the travel of passengers carrying large luggage, the baggage consignment supporting reconstruction project of Dongzhimen Station has been launched. In 2023, four additional baggage ramps with a width of 0.6m will be built at the south and north steps of Dongzhimen Station Hall of Line 2, the steps from B1 to B2 floors of Dongzhimen Station of Capital Airport Line, and the steps at Entrance E of the station.
The toilet is cleaner
Since 2023, Beijing Metro has successively upgraded the toilets of five stations, including Gulou Avenue of Line 2 and Anhuaqiao of Line 8, and re planned the space to maximize the number of toilet seats. The air circulation in the bathroom is more efficient by adding a low level exhaust system and replacing a fan with higher power.
The toilet service facilities in 37 stations of Line 6, such as Huangqu Station and Waiyongpo Station, have also been partially updated, focusing on the troubleshooting and replacement of wall tiles, foot valves, drainage pipes, sensors and other facilities that are frequently used.
In 2024, Beijing Metro will focus on upgrading and updating the toilets of 42 stations, such as Mudanyuan and Haidian Huangzhuang, on Line 10, to continuously improve the use environment of the station toilets. (Li Bo)
