By the end of 2023, the northern section of Line 17 and the remaining sections of Line 16 will be put into operation. According to Jinggang Metro, two new lines (sections) are being actively and orderly prepared, but Wangjing West Station of Line 17 will be suspended.

In the morning of December 18, various equipment and facilities in Taiyanggong Station of Line 17 have been installed. Sun Palace Station is mainly in orange and yellow, and the tile pattern decoration on the wall above the escalator adds a classical flavor to the station. As the only transfer station when the northern section of Line 17 is opened, Taiyanggong Station has two transfer channels connected with Line 10. After getting off the bus, passengers can take the escalator all the way up to the entrance of the transfer channel, and walk 56 meters along the transfer channel to the station hall of Line 10. The transfer time is only about 1 minute.

According to reports, the northern section of Line 17 connects large residential areas such as Tiantongyuan and Taiyanggong, as well as commercial areas such as Sanlitun, with a total length of about 25 kilometers and 10 stations.

After opening, the south and north sections of Line 17 will be operated in sections. The average daily passenger traffic volume of the northern section of Line 17 is estimated to be about 158000 person times. In the future, it will only take 31 minutes from the north of Science City to the Workers' Stadium, which will save about 30 minutes compared with driving, and about 90 minutes compared with bus transfer to the subway. At the initial stage of opening, the departure interval of the northern section of Line 17 in the morning peak is 6 minutes, and the interval of the flat peak is 8 minutes.

The north section of Line 17 is a large station express line located in the east of the central city. After the opening of the northern section, it will effectively enhance the rail transit service capacity of the future Science City and Huitian area. Convenient subway travel will also help attract more innovative enterprises and talents to settle in the Science City of the Future, which is of great significance to increase regional innovation vitality and drive industrial development.

In addition, following the previous opening of the north, middle and south sections of Line 16, two stations (Hongtaizhuang Station and Wanpingcheng Station) in the remaining sections of Line 16 will also be opened at the end of the year. At that time, Line 16 will be connected. At the same time, Suzhou Street Station of Line 16 will also be opened synchronously, and transfer with Line 10 will be realized.

As a south-north backbone line in Beijing's rail transit network, Line 16 starts from Bei'an River in the north and ends at Wanping City in the south, with a total length of about 50 kilometers. The daily average passenger traffic volume is expected to be about 400000 person times after the completion, and it only takes 83 minutes from Bei'an River Station to Wanping City Station. The connection of Line 16 will better connect such important urban functional areas as Zhongguancun West District, Sanlihe Administrative Center, Fengtai Railway Station, Fengtai Science Park, and help promote the integrated development of northern and southern urban areas.

Full coverage of "family style" barrier free toilets

Each station in the north section of Line 17 is equipped with a "family style" barrier free toilet, which is the first in the field of Beijing rail transit. The toilet is equipped with barrier free toilet and wash basin, children's toilet and wash basin, multi-function folding table, baby seat and other facilities, providing a safer and more convenient travel experience for families with children, the elderly and the disabled.

At the same time, each station in the north section of Line 17 is equipped with a mother and baby room at the platform, equipped with baby care desk, hand washing basin, hand dryer and other facilities, as well as cleaning supplies such as roll paper and hand sanitizer. In terms of the internal space layout, green plants, cartoon wall stickers and other decorative items have been specially added to provide a more private, warm and safe nursing environment for nursing mothers.

The logo is bigger and clearer

Jinggang Metro "customized" the transfer pedestrian signs at Taiyanggong Station in the north section of Line 17, and set "56 meters" walking tips on the side walls of the transfer channel entrance of Line 17 to Line 10 to provide more practical reference for passengers. At the same time, the entrance and exit passageways of each station in the north section of Line 17 are equipped with letter numbers with enlarged size, so that passengers can identify the entrance and exit information from a farther location, and the travel of low vision and elderly passengers is also more convenient.

Double side door opening of some vertical ladders

In terms of station facilities, Beijing Hong Kong Metro has optimized based on the experience of Hong Kong Railway. At Taiyanggong Station in the north section of Line 17, some vertical ladders at the station adopt the design of double-sided open door vertical ladders. Starting from the path of passengers entering and leaving the station, the direction of opening and closing the door is set to facilitate wheelchair passengers and passengers with large luggage to take the elevator. In addition to the elaborate design in the station, 8 "love seat" positions are set in each carriage on the train in the north section of Line 17.

The service robot "Jingtiezai" appeared

After the opening of the northern section of Line 17 at the end of the year, Taiyanggong Station will welcome a special "employee". The station service robot named "Jingtie Zai" has a cute shape and rich knowledge base, which can guide passengers to designated places in the station, answer common questions of passengers during travel, help passengers understand the layout plan in the station, block diagram outside the station and other information, and assist station staff to provide better travel services for passengers.
