Exhibition of 11 ethnographic documentaries

On November 30, the 5th Academic Exhibition of Chinese Ethnographic Documentary opened in the studio of the National Library of China. From now on to December 2, 11 documentaries will be shown here.

National video chronicles and national theme documentaries are vivid carriers of the history and culture of the Chinese nation, carrying fiery national feelings and rich national knowledge, and embodying the great achievements of the common development and common struggle of all Chinese nations. The theme of the film exhibition is "One World", highlighting the purpose of building a common spiritual home for the Chinese nation, inheriting the excellent traditional culture of all ethnic groups, and building a community with a shared future for mankind. A total of 667 contributions were received from all over the country, creating a new high in the number of contributions. Finally, 56 films were shortlisted and permanently collected by the National Library and the Museum of Chinese Nationalities.

On November 30, the film "Ask for Rice" was first shown in the national map, and then "Tibet Nimu Quguo Festival", "Land Carnival: Henan Lingbao" Curse Fire Society "," Gods Come "," Spring "," Different Li Characters "," Put Five Directions "," Spring in Lucheng "," Longzhou Nongtong "," Keerqin Walking Horse "," The Last Ancient Song "and other films will be shown one after another. After each exhibition, the main creative team will also come to the scene to share the unknown story behind the creation of the film with the audience.

The film exhibition will also go to the Department of Sociology of Peking University, the Film Television Communication Research Center of Tsinghua University, the School of Society and Population of Renmin University of China, the School of Journalism and Communication of Minzu University of China, the Beijing 798 Ullens Contemporary Art Center, the Film Television Anthropology Research Center of Lanzhou University, and the School of Ethnology and Sociology of Yunnan University.

The National Library has launched the Chinese Memory Project since 2012, and has jointly collected more than 100 documentary works with the Museum of Chinese Nationalities since 2019, greatly enriching the audio-visual collection resources of the two museums, providing a special place for permanent preservation and service of these excellent documentaries, and creating a broader communication platform for them.
