To ensure continuous power supply and water supply after the disaster, 6 emergency cabins have been built in the city

"This hut is as warm as my home." In the 18 square meter safety emergency cabin, water, electricity, heating and communication are all available, which is full of science and technology. In July 2023, in order to improve the emergency support ability in the event of floods, snow disasters, earthquakes and other disasters, the municipal science and technology committee and the Zhongguancun Management Committee organized a number of technology enterprises to complete the research and development of safe emergency houses with "continuous electricity, continuous water, and smooth communication" in just one month, and continued to iterate. The safety emergency cabin in Shuiyuzui Village, Mentougou District is one of the six safety emergency cabins built in the city.

Walk into the safety emergency cabin in Shuiyuzui Village, and you will feel warm. Looking around, you can't see the heating equipment. Looking carefully, the heat source comes from two "paintings" hanging on the wall, and the "canvas" is made of graphene heating materials. After the power is connected, a half square meter "painting" can maintain the heating of about 20 square meters of rooms. The indoor water purification device can provide about 200 liters of direct drinking water per hour to meet the emergency water demand.

What do you need most when disaster comes? In order to accurately answer this question, the R&D team went to more than 20 villages seriously affected by the disaster at the first time. Drinking water pollution, power interruption, communication loss... Wang Baogui, manager of the High Efficiency Power Conversion Technology Center of Xinyuan Intelligent Storage Company, said that after the project was launched in August 2023, several Beijing technology enterprises, each with its own director, had jointly invested in research and development. In only one month, the cabin had taken shape and continued to iterate and optimize. Every equipment and item in the house is closely related to the actual needs of the disaster area.

The attack of rainstorm and mountain torrents once led to the interruption of communication signals in the disaster area, and satellite telephone became the only channel to connect with the outside world. However, a conventional satellite phone needs to be used with an antenna. Before answering or making a phone call, the antenna should be used to "target the satellite", that is, to find satellite signals. "If you are not skilled in using, it will take more than ten minutes to 'target the satellite'; if the satellite signal cannot be kept connected, the outside world cannot call back," said Liu Fuzhi, deputy director of the Science and Information Administration of Mentougou District. In the corner of the cabin, two satellite telephones in the shape of "landlines" can automatically search for satellite signals and answer and make calls at any time, together with the omnidirectional antenna on the roof. Mr. Wang, a resident of Mentougou District who came to visit the hut, stopped to look carefully and said, "When the flood happened, some of my colleagues were working in the mountain area. They couldn't get in touch with each other for several days, which was very worrying. This equipment is very good!"

The water purification, heating and communication equipment in the house cannot be separated from the support of electricity. The power supply and energy storage system is the "heart" of the house. The photovoltaic panel on the roof, coupled with the semi-solid lithium iron phosphate battery with high security, can continuously supply energy for various equipment in the hut. In case of power interruption, it can operate for up to 12 days. The emergency room in case of emergency can also play a role on weekdays. The photovoltaic panel on the roof is connected to the municipal power grid. In addition to supplying the equipment in the hut for daily use, the surplus electricity can also "feed back" the power grid, and the water purification equipment can also be used by the villagers for daily use.

At present, Fangshan District and Mentougou District have built 6 safety emergency cabins, and the site selection and survey of subsequent construction sites are also in progress. "In order to respond to the needs of the disaster area, we immediately launched five science and technology supported post disaster recovery and reconstruction projects, including the 'safe emergency cabin', to tackle key problems in emergency relief, post disaster recovery, early warning and prevention." The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Management Committee said that Beijing has vigorously developed and fostered the safety emergency industry in recent years, with rich innovative resources Industrial agglomeration. At present, relevant projects are still promoting research and development, which will continue to provide scientific and technological support for disaster relief and reconstruction.
