Generally, the basis used for metal tape mainly includes manufacturer's guidelines such as SRM, NSRM, AMM, CMM, or technical data of aircraft manufacturers such as TR, SR, CV, TV, DOA_ACL, etc. For example, in the Airbus Construction and Maintenance Guide (SRM), it is specified that the edge of the tape should at least exceed the damaged edge by 25mm. If the width of the tape is insufficient, another layer of tape can be pasted to increase the coverage area, and the top layer of tape should cover the next layer of tape by at least 12mm, as shown in Figure 2 below.
