We encourage all people in the supply chain to share feedback and focus on providing various ways to let their voices be heard. We conducted interviews with hundreds of thousands of suppliers' employees, collected opinions, and set up a hotline for them to express their doubts to Apple anonymously. Then we provided support to suppliers based on these feedback, helped them strengthen their operations, and let employees have the best possible experience in their work.
We will quickly investigate the concerns submitted, and Apple experts will arrive at the scene within 24 to 48 hours.Apple will never allow any retaliation. If suppliers are found to retaliate against employees who raise doubts, they will immediately face serious consequences, including terminating Apple's business dealings with them.We will ask the supplier to immediately solve the problem and regularly check the relevant progress until it is confirmed that it has taken all necessary measures.
For any problem, if the supplier is unwilling or unable to rectify, it will face the risk of being removed from the supply chain by us.Since 2009, we have removed 25 supplier manufacturing plants and 231 smelters, refineries and material manufacturers that do not meet our standards from the supply chain.

2030 Realize carbon neutrality in the supply chain
Since 2020, Apple's global corporate operations have been carbon neutral. We also set the goal of making the entire supply chain, including the product life cycle, carbon neutral by 2030.
To achieve Apple's 2030 goal, we must first continuously reduce carbon emissions in the manufacturing process. To this end, we design products with lower carbon emissions, increase the use of recycled and renewable materials, and promote the transformation of the entire supply chain to 100% use of renewable energy.Later, we will prefer high-quality solutions based on nature, such as the projects provided by Apple's Restore Fund, to offset the remaining small emissions with carbon removal.
We also call on suppliers to decarbonize Apple products by 2030.To help them achieve this goal, we provide targeted programs and training aimed at improving energy efficiency and finding high-quality renewable energy sources.

When manufacturing products, we are committed to minimizing the resources used and waste generated. We require suppliers to realize zero landfill of waste by implementing recycling and reuse plans and developing innovative materials and recycling strategies.Today, all the completed Apple main product assembly plants have obtained zero landfill of wasteauthentication.
Water is an important resource shared by human beings and ecosystems all over the world. We strive to protect water resources for future generations.Through clean water projects, we help suppliers reduce water consumption, promote water recycling, and prevent water pollution.Since the launch of the project in 2015, 20 of our supplier factories have obtained the certification issued by the International Alliance for Sustainable Water Management (AWS), the world's leading water resource management organization. To obtain this certification, the supplier must adopt advanced water-saving and water resource management measures, and cooperate with the community to jointly protect the water resources in the local basin.

Towards 100% recycling And the journey of regeneration
Our goal is to one day manufacture products completely with recycled and renewable materials and get rid of dependence on mining.Year after year, we have made more and more components with 100% recycled or renewable materials, and we are making continuous progress towards this goal.Efficient disassembly and recycling of used products is also a key part of our work to support circular economy. These processes can help recycle valuable reusable materials, make full use of limited resources, and allow us to design and manufacture a new generation of equipment that is more beneficial to mankind and the earth. To this end, we provide the Recycling Agency Guide and conduct an assessment to verify whether suppliers meet our standards, so as to help them recycle our products safely and efficiently.
Whether raw materials or recycled materials, we have always strictly adhered to the high standards of responsible procurement.Since Apple does not directly purchase or obtain raw materials, we work closely with suppliers to maintain these standards and work with partners to improve conditions in the mining community and surrounding areas.
