Chinese applicants rejected:
Hello, maybe you think I am heartless, but you are wrong. There must be a reason why I refuse to sign.
Please don't believe what the travel company told you about me being in a bad mood.
Next, I will give you a statement about my work of the day, and you will understand.
My job
I usually arrive at the office before 8 am and turn on my computer. There are already a large number of visa applicants waiting for interviews in front of the interview window. They hold various documents, photos and other evidences to prove their purpose of going abroad and keeping in touch with the motherland.
There are many reasons for wanting to go to the United States: studying, doing business, taking holidays, visiting relatives and friends. The applicant's face shows various human emotions: anticipation, excitement, fear, boredom, and nervousness. Most Chinese applicants (more than 85% on average) will qualify and obtain a US visa.
For some people, this is just the latest visa they have applied for in order to continue working or studying in the United States; However, for others, this is their first time to apply for a US visa, and they want to realize their American dream.
My job as a visa officer is to review the situation of these applicants and determine who meets the requirements of the type of visa applied for. Most visa types require applicants to convince visa officers that they will return to their home country after a short stay in the United States, that is, to show evidence of economic, social or family ties between them and the country of residence.
Interview 1
My first interview was very easy: the interviewer was a young student with a smile. He hoped to transfer to an American university and come to the interview after full preparation. He talked about the reasons why he wanted to study in this university, the way he paid the tuition, and his future plans for returning to China to work for his parents' company after he completed his studies. "Congratulations! Study hard!" I told him.
Interview II
The second applicant is also a student, but this time the preparation is not very full. She tried hard to explain her study plan in English and Chinese, and repeated rote speeches. This is a difficult case. I gave her a chance to explain herself, but at the end of the interview, I had to decide that she did not meet the conditions for applying for a student visa.
She asked me to explain the reasons in detail and try to push more documents into my window. But I explained to her that there was no single special reason for her refusal, but I felt that her overall personal situation and interview answers showed that she was not qualified to study in the United States at present.
I told her that if she could better explain her learning objectives and funding sources, perhaps she would meet the requirements in the future.
Look, there must be a reason for my refusal.
Interview III
The third applicant was categorically rejected by me in accordance with American law, because his history is not credible. He claimed to have business interests in the United States, but he could not answer my questions about his work or American partners. Moreover, just yesterday, I saw three other applicants with the same materials as him, and I immediately understood that his purpose was not true.
He smiled at me, realized that he had been seen through, and walked away angrily.
I will not refuse to sign an applicant for no reason.
Our job is to facilitate entry in good faith and prevent entry in violation of the laws of the United States.
As a visa officer, we cannot guarantee that it will always be correct, but we earnestly fulfill our responsibilities and do our best to let more and more Chinese applicants get the opportunity to work, travel and study in the United States!
I hope the rejected applicants will be well prepared again
We will review and give reasonable results
The visa of the United States is different from that of other countries. Everyone needs to be interviewed. Although they are afraid of being bombed or attacked, sometimes the interview counter is very high and they protect themselves well, they still talk one by one for the sake of democratic and just American spirit. In fact, what to talk about is not important. First, you should understand why to sign in person. Although face to face visa is troublesome, it has great benefits. Just like the traditional Chinese medicine says "look, smell, ask, and feel", so does the American visa face to face visa. Since it is a face to face visa, it will not rely entirely on the submitted information.
Data is the basis
”Look, smell, ask and feel
"Look" refers to your appearance, dress and temperament.
From these elements, we can generally see where you are from (it is estimated that if you are experienced, it is also possible; if you are from Fujian, it can be seen immediately that you hold a Shandong passport), your family Education and professional background (for example, a single older woman, who is gorgeous and dressed in tacky clothes, is not good when it comes to education and professional background. This visa officer refuses directly without looking at information and listening to your explanation).
Are you nervous? (The polygraph was invented by Americans. It's said that it's very accurate. I think it's OK. Americans want everyone to test it. But it's expensive and difficult to promote it on a large scale. But tension is an important sign of lying, but tension alone cannot be judged. Some people are nervous on this occasion.); Whether you are confident, that is, whether you have aura (for example, if a person goes to MBA and has 10 years of work experience, he or she is an enterprise executive, it must be easy to sign).
From the perspective of "vision", beauty and ugliness are not the criteria for judgment, but the fit between the overall feeling and his travel plan is the most important.
Now the visa officer protects himself well, and it is not easy to smell your smell. But don't ignore it. Man is an animal. In fact, whether one likes another is closely related to smell. Men should not spray perfume, while women should choose perfume with less fragrance. Of course, before going to see the visa officer, you'd better brush your teeth and check for bad breath.
"Ask" and "cut" are the same as job interviews. The questions come from your written materials.
The domestic laws of Americans stress that "before you are tried, you will be judged innocent", but on the visa issue, it is assumed that you have an immigration tendency, as if all of you are trying to rob Americans of their jobs. Because the interview time is limited, the visa officer's questions focus on the doubtful points.
The following are suspected behaviors
1. Look where people are first
If the passport is issued from Fujian (except Xiamen and Quanzhou), Liaoning, Henan, Xinjiang, Jiangsu, or an internal reminder, be alert immediately and tell yourself to ask more questions. If the issuing place is a big city, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other core cities, relax.
2. Then look at the travel plan
It is possible to ask you directly about your travel plan, what city to visit, how to play, which flight to book, and so on. Older single youth should be alert.
3. Take a final look at the money
If it is obvious that there is no money, the materials show that there is a lot of money, but the visa applicants themselves look like poor people, so be vigilant.
4. View documents
It only takes about 3 minutes. If it is normal logic, ask a few questions and then release. Unless the visa officer finds an interesting applicant, in order to solve his or her empty and lonely life, he or she will chat.
If the logic is not normal, the question is mainly asked about the visa officer's doubts. Unless the question is answered by the visa officer, it will be rejected.
Most doubtful visas will be rejected. Of course, there are some differences between visa officers and visa officers, some strict, some loose, but experienced people can see the doubts of visa.
So the strictness and leniency are mainly aimed at doubtful cases. The strict visa officer often belongs to me, and I don't believe you anymore. Let me see how you play, and refuse to play.
Relaxed visa officers often believe that human nature is inherently good, and everyone is a good child. Unless you are really hopeless, they are willing to give you a chance.
If you encounter a severe visa officer in a previously rejected case, you will still be rejected. If you encounter a loose visa, you will even overturn the former visa officer's judgment.
