Q: The final is the stage for Xinjiang team to return to the final after five years. How do you feel as the head coach?

Qiu Biao: Personally, I have no regrets, because I do my best. Of course, it's also a pity that after my coaching, this is the first complete season for Xinjiang team. On the stage of the finals, I feel totally different from the playoffs. This feeling can only be felt when you stand here.

I have always told the team members that we have to release ourselves on this stage, but we have fought in four games, which is far from being achieved. We thought we could release ourselves after the first and second games of the finals, but we didn't. In many aspects, the team includes shooting percentage, execution, free throws, open shots, defense, etc. Compared with the semi-final, it seems that the team has changed.

For me, how to conduct more effective psychological counseling for the team members so that they can play their own level on the stage of the finals is an aspect that I need to improve. This is still very knowledgeable.

Q: Abdul Salam is the only player in the team who has experienced the finals, but his performance in the finals is seriously abnormal. What happened?

Qiu Biao: Abdul Shalam is the captain and the spiritual leader of the team. His dedication and will power are the wealth of the team. But standing on the stage of the finals this time, to be frank, his performance was not good and did not play at the normal level. In my opinion, it is still a matter of mentality. He wants to win too much. When he is so close to the championship trophy, I think he thinks too much and has too much mental baggage. By the finals, his fatigue was visible to the naked eye. In fact, in the playoffs, he lost a lot of weight. In more than a month, he lost 11 kg.

Q: Did injuries also limit his performance?

Qiu Biao: For him, although he also has serious injuries and fever, these are not the main factors, but mental problems. In fact, this is his first time to play in the finals as a captain. He has imposed too many things on himself. The more he loses, the more he wants to win the next game. If we really win a game, maybe the situation will be different.

Q: How do you evaluate Qi Lin, who has performed well in the regular season this season?

Qiu Biao: Qi Lin was a very talented player from his debut. He gradually grew up in the Xinjiang team. In fact, when he first came to play in Jiangsu and Guangdong in this season's regular season, he was also a bit out of order. But with the deepening of the season, he has made visible progress. After the finals, he took on the role of the main attacking firepower of the team for the first time. He also had a lot of empty space opportunities at this point, but obviously failed to seize them. Before the finals, we talked and he was relatively stable, but at the moment of the game, especially in the fourth quarter, he was still a bit impatient. Therefore, this experience is a valuable lesson for him.

Comparatively speaking, Liaoning team has rich experience in the finals. Han Dejun, Li Xiaoxu and Zhao Jiwei all have more experience in the competition than us, which can make them perform more smoothly at critical moments.

Q: Many people say that if Zhao Rui and Zhu Xuhang can keep healthy, the final will not be a 0-4 result. What do you think of the impact of the absence of two major players on the team?

Qiu Biao: We have never used injuries as a reason for the team to lose, but we can't deny that it has had a negative impact on the team. Especially in personnel rotation. Zhao Rui and Zhao Jiwei are one of the best guards in the league. By comparison, Zhao Jiwei's passing vision, organization and attack have played a strong role in driving the game.

Zhu Xuhang is characterized by hard work and projection, including his determination and lethality in the Xinjiang team and the Zhejiang team before him, which is also something we lack in the finals. At the same time, the lack of these two players has brought some difficulties to our personnel rotation. But the injury I want to say is also a part of the team's progress in the season.
