On May 24, IT Home reported that Lenovo's product manager @ Thinking about the Future and blogger @ Jinzhu's upgrade package were on the microblog platform at noon today, and AMD internally adjusted the naming scheme for the next generation APU code named Strix (Point).
@Think about the future. The name of a Strix Point processor will be calculated algebraically as "processor with NPU".
The @ Golden Pig upgrade package clearly indicates that AMD will launch two processors named Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365.
Compared with the previously disclosed name, the main change of the new naming scheme is that the 1 representing the processor generation is changed to 3, and it is clear that the 10 core model also belongs to the 9 level of the Sharp Dragon.
Judging from the Phoenix Point processor that first introduced NPU, Strix Point is indeed the third generation AMD APU processor equipped with NPU units.
According to the information currently available to IT Home, the AMD Strix Point processor will be based on the TSMC 4nm process, and the CPU part will adopt the dual CCX design, which contains up to 4 Zen5 cores and 8 Zen5c cores, and has 24MB L3 cache.
This series of processors will also carry at most 8WGP (16CU) scale RDNA3.5 architecture core display and 40+TOPS computing power NPU.
As an insider in the industry, @ Thinking about the Future also mentioned that the naming of Strix Point will be lifted in early June, which basically confirms that AMD will release this series of processors at the Taipei International Computer Show in 2024.
