Nandu previously reported that on May 7, the mandatory national standard of the Safety Technical Specification for Lithium Ion Batteries for Electric Bicycles (GB 43854-2024, hereinafter referred to as the "Technical Specification"), drafted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, had been issued by the General Administration of Market Supervision (the National Standards Commission) and would be officially implemented on November 1 this year.
The Technical Specifications not only specify the safety requirements for the single lithium-ion battery for electric bicycles, but also include electrical safety (including overcharge, over discharge, external short circuit, temperature protection, etc.), mechanical safety (including extrusion, acceleration shock, vibration, etc.), environmental safety (including low air pressure, temperature cycle, immersion, etc.), thermal diffusion, mutual recognition and collaborative charging, data acquisition Signs and other seven aspects set the product safety access threshold of the battery pack, and improved the intrinsic safety level of lithium ion batteries.
The Technical Specifications is a mandatory national standard, which means that after the implementation of this standard, all lithium-ion batteries for electric bicycles sold in China must meet its requirements.
