Then the question arises. As a Taiwanese artist, do you have the right to remain silent in the current tense situation of cross-strait relations?

Because the leaders of the 520 Taiwan region were sworn in, the mainland also carried out large-scale military exercises to demonstrate the determination of national reunification. Some media took this opportunity to assign "tasks" to Taiwanese artists:

Although I don't quite understand why a media has the right to assign tasks to artists, the reality is that the atmosphere has been set off here. Taiwan artists' "not expressing their opinions", or expressing their opinions in a language of their choice, will be interpreted as "eating and crashing".

In fact, the public opinion led by the official media is that Taiwan artists do not have the right to remain silent, and it is not enough to make a statement twice at a time. They must actively hand in their homework every time the media "assigns tasks", so they can be regarded as reliable people of their own.

Concerning the overall situation of the reunification of the motherland, I have no opinions on the position, but I have a little personal superficial ideas on the standards and standards.

Personally, a Taiwanese artist who has not publicly supported the separatist idea of Taiwan independence in terms of language and action is a friend that can be made, a force worth fighting for, and an artist who should be treated equally.

Artists are first and foremost individuals, who have their own time background and social environment of growth, interpersonal ties to maintain life, and their own values and interests.

For an artist born in Taiwan and residing in Taiwan, Taiwan fans are fans, and mainland fans are also fans. If the artist does not have the intention to deeply involve in political issues, then the most economic and rational choice is to make vague statements and avoid making statements, while taking into account the feelings of fans with different political positions on both sides of the Straits, and taking into account the economic benefits of the market on both sides of the Straits.

It is certainly possible to force artists to choose one market and completely abandon another under pressure, but to be fair, it is a choice that goes against one's economic rationality and is difficult to be genuinely recognized.

Ask yourself, what we want to show our compatriots in Taiwan is a prosperous, strong, confident, tolerant and friendly country, or a domineering and forceful country that assigns tasks to our compatriots in Taiwan?

Personally, I prefer to show the strong, confident, tolerant and friendly side of the motherland, and hope that Taiwanese artists can retain the right to silence.
