On May 23, Fast Technology reported that AMD today released the second generation of game delay technology Radeon Anti Lag 2, which is an upgraded version of Anti Lag in 2019 and Anti Lag+in 2023.
AMD Anti Lag technology, similar to NVIDIA Reflex, is used to shorten the delay from operation click to response feedback, and improve the sensitivity and smoothness of the game.
Anti Lag 2 has been redesigned to be directly integrated into the game, scheduling frame sequences and CPU resources in the game code instead of using the driver layer, which has greatly improved.
The Anti Lag 2 technology supports CS2 for the first time, which is currently in the preview stage. It needs to be started in cooperation with the 24.5.1 technology preview version driver. The status monitoring can be turned on through the Alt+Shift+L shortcut key, and multiple display modes of frame rate and delay can be selected.
According to the official statement, the RX 7000 series graphics card and the Ruilong 8000G series processor enable Anti Lag 2, which can reduce the delay by an average of 37%. Compared with the original driver based solution, the delay can be reduced by up to 95%.
For example, in CS2, for ultra-high image quality settings, the delay of RX 7700S 1600p resolution is 31 milliseconds, enabling the first generation Anti Lag can be shortened to 24 milliseconds, and Anti Lag 2 can be further reduced to 19 milliseconds.
The delay of the three states of the Sharp Dragon 7 8700G 1080p resolution is 21ms, 18ms and 16ms respectively.
AMD will also release the Anti Lag 2 SDK development kit on GPUOpen.com for game developers to use, and more games will gradually join the ranks of anti Lag 2 support.
