For 15 years since 2009, Nakano Yushu has not eaten meat or fish, beans, potatoes, rice, bread and other grains, nor vegetables. Even he doesn't drink water or tea at all, and only eats fruit.

Nakano said that he really only ate fruit at first. But after the first month, his body began to want salt so much that he began to lick it.

He also eats fruits and vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.). In addition, they sometimes eat nuts to make up for the lack of protein. Strictly speaking, more than 99% of his diet consists only of fruit.

When a reporter asked Nakano how much fruit he ate a day? He said that it depends on the season and the situation of the day, But the average daily consumption is 1.5-2 kg.

Nakano said that before 2003, he did not like or hate fruit. He never took the initiative to buy fruit in the supermarket. He usually ate it from his parents' home or from desserts at meals.

The reason why Nakano would be very interested in fruits is that when he was a student, he had done research on desert greening.

At that time, Nakano observed some afforestation projects in developing countries at close range. The actual situation was that local people were forced by the state to do afforestation. Under such compulsion, there is neither reward nor motivation, so the duration is not long.

Therefore, Nakano believes that the only way to promote afforestation is to make local people economically prosperous while carrying out afforestation.

At that time, Nakano read a book and learned that fruit is a kind of nutritious food. Then he had an idea. He thinks that if he can promote that fruit is good for human health, farmers will voluntarily increase the number of orchards, which in turn will help to deal with global warming.

Nakano said that medical experts often warn us that "people eat too much fruit because it is too sweet", but there is no research on the human body to explore the impact of eating too much fruit. Experts and nutritionists will say that "fruit is very sweet, so it will lead to diabetes", "fruit contains a lot of fructose, so it will increase neutral fat", etc., but these are wrong views in medicine.

But because Nakano has no title and is not a doctor, no one listens to him no matter how enthusiastic he is about the benefits of fruit. So he decided to try his hand and do some research. Because no one has ever studied the effect of eating too much fruit before.

Nakano said frankly that when he first tried to eat only fruit, he also had failures and could not adhere to the situation. Before the actual start of the experiment, he ate all the things he wanted to eat. During the 15 years of the experiment, he never thought about eating ramen, barbecue and other things.

Even if he goes on a business trip to other places, he will either go out with fruit or go to the local supermarket to buy fruit, and he will never stop eating fruit.

Nakano started this experiment at the age of 33. Now he is 48 years old. Nurses and doctors often praise him for his physical examination results. Because the blood sugar, blood pressure and liver function of Nakano are normal, especially the kidney function looks very good.

He also did a bone density test in a television project, and was surprised to find that his bone density was 30% higher than that of men of the same age.

You should know that the Japanese eat less than 100g of fruit every day, which is the lowest in developed countries. The global average daily intake of fruit exceeds 200g. In some countries, fruits are easier to eat than vegetables, because fruits do not need to be cooked and are easier to be regarded as healthy food.

Nakano said that he would like to know what happens when his body naturally declines even when he is 50 or 60 years old and only eats fruit. If he can, he wants to continue to do so in his lifetime. When he died, he wanted to use his organs as anatomical specimens for medical research. So I don't plan to stop eating only fruit now.
