On Monday, Dell announced that it will release five laptops equipped with Qualcomm processors: XPS 13 (9345), Inspiron 14, Inspiron 14 Plus, Latitude 7455 and Latitude 5455. This is more than any other manufacturer has released so far.
The new XPS 13 uses a 12 core Snapdragon X Elite processor, which supports dual core boost. It will have a maximum of 64GB of internal memory, 2TB of PCIe SSD storage (4TB option after marketing), and three 13.4-inch display options: 500 bit 1920 x 1200 non touch IPS display screen, with a refresh rate of 120Hz; 500 nit 2560 x 1600 IPS touch screen with HDR and 120Hz refresh rate; And 400 nit, 60Hz 2880 x 1800 OLED touch screen display with HDR.
All three configurations have a 1080p webcam that supports Windows Hello, and USB4 Type C with DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery. The OLED version is slightly thinner than the IPS version, only 0.58 inches, while the IPS version is 0.60 inches, but the weight of the three products is the same, 2.6 pounds.
Dell Latitude 7455 will use the same Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chip options, but both configurations will be available in the United States. This Dell laptop will support up to 32GB of memory, 1TB of M.2 2230 solid state disk storage space and a large number of ports: two USB4 Type C, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, microSD, audio jack, Windows Hello webcam, optional fingerprint identifier and optional external uSIM card carrier for 5G connection.
There will be a display to choose from: a 14 inch 2650 x 1600 IPS touch screen. Both Latitude configurations weigh 3.17 pounds and have a thickness of 0.67 inches.
Finally, Dell Inspiron 14 Plus (7441) will only be equipped with a 10 core Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16GB memory, 512GB/1TB M.2 SSD storage option and a display screen option: a 14 inch 2560 x 1600 IPS non touch display screen, and a 1080p Windows Hello webcam. The ports include two USB4 Type C, one USB-A 3.2, one microSD card reader and one headphone jack. It weighs approximately 3.17 pounds (depending on configuration) and is 0.58 inches thick.
All five laptops (and more details on laptops that have not yet been released) will be released later this year, but XPS 13 and Inspiron 14 Plus are now available for subscription. XPS 13 starts at $1299 and Inspiron 14 Plus starts at $1099.
