The two sides reaffirmed their recognition of the importance of China India relations and stressed that the two countries should properly handle border issues and jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas.

Xu Feihong pointed out that China has always believed that China India relations are not a single issue or field that can be defined, and boundary issues are not the whole of China India relations. In September 2014, President Xi Jinping said in his speech at the World Affairs Committee of India that we should not only focus on differences and ignore friendship and cooperation, but also not interfere with the development process and overall situation of bilateral relations.

Xu Feihong stressed that after the border incident in June 2020, China will maintain diplomatic and military communication with India, The two militaries have achieved disengagement at four points in the western section of the border.
