Last April, just after the border was closed, the number of international students in New Zealand was 51580.In normal years, about 115000 international students study in New Zealand every year.
Although the government has said that the border will be reopened by the end of April next year, the Immigration Bureau has extended the suspension of visa processing for most applicants to August next year.
