NetEase Auto reported on May 23 Recently, NetEase Auto learned from the Mercedes Benz official that the official image of the first concept model of the Mercedes Benz Super Exclusive Collection "Mythos series" - the Mercedes AMG PureSpeed concept car was officially released. The new car belongs to the Mythos High Definition Legendary Series, which is aimed at the most loyal supporters of Mercedes Benz and the collectors who pursue the ultimate. At present, it has completed its debut before the official start of F1 Monaco Grand Prix. It is reported that the first mass production model will be launched in 2025, and only 250 vehicles will be sold worldwide.
In terms of appearance, the biggest highlight of the new car is the use of the open cockpit plus Halo system on F1 racing cars. This model does not use the traditional A pillar design, but uses HALO to support the head safety protection of the whole car. Once the system was launched in F1 racing cars, it saved many drivers from disaster.
In addition, the new car is also equipped with an aerodynamic optimized engine cowl, with additional air outlets, and small air deflectors at the front and side can guide the air above the cockpit.
The car is a two seat sports car with an open cockpit design. It has no roof, windshield and side windows. It has HALO system from F1, and its overall design is inspired by Mercedes A MG ONE ( parameter | picture ), as well as an aerodynamically optimized helmet.
Many design elements of PureSpeed are inspired by the legendary color of classic racing cars, including the gradual painting of No. 10 race car, the champion of Targa Florio Rally in 1924, from Le Mans red to graphite grey, and the number 10 words on the front fender, all of which pay tribute to the victory 100 years ago. And the double hump fairing behind the seat of 300 SLR, the winner of the 1955 Mille Miglia Rally.
In addition, the front and rear wheels have unique carbon fiber coatings, and their wheel housings are semi enclosed, which can improve aerodynamic performance, optimize the air flow in the front end, and thus achieve brake cooling and downforce.
At the rear of the car, the new car is equipped with a bimodal roll cage similar to 300 SLR and an AMG badge. The tail lamp group is basically the same as SL, but the internal light source adopts a more intensive dot matrix design, which has a good recognition after lighting. Interestingly, the rear enclosure of the new car presents a layered state, and the whole tail adopts a groove structure, and is equipped with a rear diffuser device and a bilateral four outlet exhaust layout.
Not surprisingly, the new car also uses a large number of carbon fiber materials to reduce weight, so as to improve the handling of the vehicle.
At present, no more interior pictures have been released, but the official said that the new car will be equipped with a customized clock of IWC Schaffhausen on the center console. In addition, the new car will be equipped with unique colors and configurations.
In terms of power, no specific information has been released yet. It is expected that the 4.0T twin turbocharged V8 engine on SL 63 will be used.
