The latest release candidate (RC4) for WordPress 6.5 is ready!
This release candidate is an addition to the existing WordPress 6.5 release cycle. It allows more time for testing to ensure every feature and improvement is in the best shape possible.
There’s been a lot of helpful feedback regarding one of this release’s highlighted features: the Font Library. This has resulted in someadditional improvements neededto make sure the greatest number of sites possible can benefit from this anticipated new feature.

This version of the WordPress software is under development.Please do not install, run, or test this version of WordPress on production or mission-critical websites.Instead, it’s recommended that you evaluate RC4 on a test server and site.
While release candidates are considered ready for release, testing remains crucial to ensure that everything in WordPress 6.5 is the best it can be.
You can test WordPress 6.5 RC4 in four ways:
Plugin
Install and activate theWordPress Beta Testerplugin on a WordPress install. (Select the “Bleeding edge” channel and “Beta/RC Only” stream).
Use the followingWP-CLIcommand: wp core update --version=6.5-RCfour
WordPress Playground
Use the6.5 RC4 WordPress Playground instance(available within 35 minutes after the release is ready) to test the software directly in your browser without the need for a separate site or setup.
