But what is different from the past is that Wang Liansheng, who will retire in November 2022, has chosen to stay back and return to his post on the line of fire this time, to face the Spring Festival travel as a veteran of civil aviation, and continue to play his role.

This year is the 38th year for Wang Liansheng to work at Dongying Airport. In February 1985, Wang Liansheng, from the Navigation Company of the Communication Battalion of Gaomi Station of the Air Force, responded to the call and applied to come to Dongying Airport, which has not been completed yet. In the face of difficult environment, he has been working for more than 30 years and witnessed the development of Dongying Airport.

Holiday is the busiest time for airport staff. In the impression of many colleagues, Wang Liansheng always gives up the time to get together with his family and works overtime to ensure flights on holidays.

In December 2022, in the face of the new situation of epidemic prevention and control, many colleagues of Wang Liansheng's special vehicle team were infected with COVID-19 at home. In addition to the upcoming Spring Festival travel and various support tasks of the domestic large aircraft C919, the special vehicle team, which was already very nervous, was even worse. At this time of urgent need for support, Wang Liansheng volunteered to the company's Party Committee to return to work.

In the eyes of the people, the Spring Festival is a happy celebration and family reunion. In the eyes of the airport staff, it is more responsibility and dedication.

On the first day of the lunar new year, the airport issued a snow cooling weather warning. On the second day of the lunar new year, Wang Liansheng, who was originally off duty, took the initiative to stay and work overtime. "Master Wang, come and have a look, the tractor is broken..." On the second day of the first day of the year, there were bursts of urgent calls from the walkie talkie. Due to the large cooling range, the tractor suddenly failed in the process of pushing the aircraft, the steering system could not operate, and the vehicle could not be evacuated.

Wang Liansheng, who received the notice, ran to the location of the faulty vehicle despite the cold wind and snow outside. At this time, the aircraft engine has started, making a huge roar. The de icing fluid has 15 minutes to hold, and the flight will be delayed if it does not take off. In a short time, all kinds of urging sounds and the roar of aircraft make people more upset.

In such an emergency, Wang Liansheng drilled under the car and finally found the cause of the fault after some emergency troubleshooting. It turned out that the hydraulic oil pipe was cracked. He carried out emergency maintenance and troubleshooting. The tractor evacuated safely and the plane took off normally.

The moment he saw the plane take off, Wang Liansheng's face showed a pleased smile. In the voice of thanks and admiration from his colleagues, Wang Liansheng waved his hand in embarrassment: "Nothing, nothing, the flight will take off normally." It has always been the work principle of this civil aviation veteran to make every effort and dedication.

As the first outfield test flight base of COMAC other than Shanghai, Dongying Airport has undertaken the test flight support task of domestic large passenger aircraft C919. In order to ensure the normal operation of the airport and avoid the takeoff and landing of scheduled flights, many test flights of C919 were arranged late at night. For this reason, Wang Liansheng stuck to it until late at night, and continued to work normally the next day, never complaining about pain and fatigue. On the premise of ensuring daily work, Wang Liansheng guaranteed the flight test task with high quality and efficiency, and ensured the flight and flight test.

Since taking part in the work, Wang Liansheng has guaranteed more than 125000 flights, dispatched nearly 315000 special vehicles, participated in the test flight of COMAC ARJ21 and C919 at Dongying Airport, and provided more than 3000 passenger lifts, power cars and tractors for domestic large passenger aircraft.

No matter in spring, summer, autumn or winter, it's windy or rainy. As long as the flight security needs, Wang Liansheng promises to be available at any time without complaint.

"I remember one night in the winter of 2017, when it was snowing heavily outside the window and the wind was cold, a phone call woke me from my dream, and the heating system of the de icing vehicle unit failed. When I received the order, it was 1 o'clock in the middle of the night, and I ran to the airport at the fastest speed. After more than 40 minutes of urgent repair and troubleshooting, the vehicle heating system returned to normal. I feel extremely happy and proud to see the plane take off normally. " Wang Liansheng recalled.

This Spring Festival, in addition to making every effort to complete all the support tasks with the "comrades in arms", Wang Liansheng also led his colleagues to hold an exchange meeting to share his more than 30 years of technical operation experience and improve the technical level together. "Although I am retired, the airport is my home, and my colleagues are my relatives. As long as there is a need in 'home', I will do my best to ensure that I will not quit my job after retirement, and do my best to contribute to the safe operation of the airport." Wang Liansheng said.
