On May 22, Guangdong Nuclear Energy Industry High Quality Development Conference was held in Guangzhou.

At the meeting, the "Guangdong Nuclear Energy Industry Alliance" was officially established. The alliance units covered the whole industry chain business fields such as nuclear energy equipment, construction and installation, operation and maintenance, and signed a number of contracts including 9 joint research and development agreements, 7 agreements of intent to invest in Guangdong, and a total amount of 12.5 billion yuan.

The members of the Alliance jointly said that Guangdong's nuclear energy industry is ushering in a new strategic opportunity. Enterprises will continue to work hard in Guangdong, work together, and work together to build a harmonious nuclear energy industry ecosystem with a higher position, a broader vision, and greater efforts!

Guangdong nuclear power started early with a high starting point. Since the 1980s, it has been developing and utilizing nuclear power. Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, the first large-scale commercial nuclear power plant in mainland China, was completed and put into operation in 1994. At present, Guangdong nuclear power projects have been launched in Shenzhen, Yangjiang, Taishan, Huizhou, Lianjiang, Lufeng and other places. At present, there are 14 nuclear power units in operation with an installed capacity of 16.14 million kilowatts, It accounts for more than 28% of the country, ranking first in the country.

Guangdong has the longest coastline in China, and there is still a lot of space for new coastal nuclear power plant sites. At present, Guangdong is actively promoting the preliminary work of a number of projects according to the national deployment.
