Guangming Daily, Beijing, June 14, by wire (reporter Zhang Lei) The Long March 10 series launch vehicle (hereinafter referred to as the "Long March 10 series rocket"), developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (affiliated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation), successfully completed the test run of a sub stage power system on the 14th. During the test run, the engine started normally, operated stably, shut down regularly, and all parameters tested normal. This is the first system level large-scale ground test of the Changshi series rockets, which has fully verified the matching of the first sub stage pressurization and transportation system with the engine, the propellant injection process, the parallel transmission of multiple engines, and the environmental characteristics, marking that the Changshi series rockets have fully entered the fast lane of large-scale ground test and development.

The Changshi series rocket is a three-stage semi rocket, which is developed for the manned lunar exploration project to launch a new generation of manned spacecraft and lunar landers. The rocket has a total length of 92.5 meters, takeoff weight of about 2189 tons, takeoff thrust of about 2678 tons, and the earth moon transfer orbit carrying capacity of no less than 27 tons. The rocket derived from this type of rocket has a total length of about 67 meters, a takeoff weight of about 740 tons, a takeoff thrust of about 892 tons, and a low Earth orbit carrying capacity of no less than 14 tons. It can carry out space station astronauts and cargo transportation missions. The first sub stage has the function of reuse.

The power system test is the ground development test with the most systems, the most complex states and the most difficulty in the development of launch vehicles. According to Xu Hongping of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the power system test run of the Changshi series rocket is one sub stage with three YF-100K engines ignited at the same time, which is the largest power system test run in the development process of launch vehicles in China at this stage. The ground thrust reaches 382 tons, 1.6 times more than the previous largest test.

According to the follow-up development plan, the Changshi series rocket will conduct the second test run of the first sub stage power system in the near future to further verify other working conditions and lay a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the manned lunar exploration project.
