【 Owner's Home News 】According to Hong Kong media recently, the BYD electric taxi produced by the mainland had a charging explosion on June 18 in a basement in Aimin Estate, Hong Kong. An electric taxi driver was ready to drive his car to the above address for charging. "The whole charger was burned, but the display screen was still on, and it also showed that the charging was still 30 minutes away, and the surrounding walls were also blackened." The taxi driver admitted that the incident made him worried about the safety of electric vehicles, and he had decided to drive a traditional oil taxi again. At present, according to the person in charge of the charging station, all chargers have been suspended to ensure public safety.

Today, BYD officially released a statement on the "Failure of Hong Kong Charging Box on June 18". "It is preliminarily determined that the cause of the fault is due to the looseness of the connection point between the power grid and the charging box, which leads to excessive equivalent impedance and overheating. This causes the charging vehicle to replace other charging boxes and drive away after charging." BYD said that it has checked other charging devices, and other charging facilities have no related hidden dangers, This single failure will not affect the normal operation of electric vehicles in Hong Kong.

The local media yesterday went to the parking lot of Shek Wai Kok Estate and Ai Min Estate and found that all BYD taxi chargers were out of service, and the accident chargers were also covered with black plastic bags. The scene showed that the wall had been blackened.

E6 private cars have been listed in Hong Kong for more than one month without transaction

According to Hong Kong Ming Pao, BYD e6 electric taxis and private cars were launched in May at the same time. At present, the private car has not been sold since it was listed for one month. Sime Darby, BYD's general agent in Hong Kong, said that many interested corporate customers hope to collect more relevant data before making a decision after more e6 taxis are piloted.

Yu Bingquan, a senior manager of Sime Darby, said that potential owners are most concerned about whether the driving range of the e6 is 300 kilometers after it is fully charged. Compared with the competitor Nissan LEAF Electric Vehicle, its range is only more than 100 kilometers. If the e6 data is true, potential car owners will feel that e6 is relatively easy to calculate.
