CCTV News: The National Tourism Development Conference was held in Beijing on May 17, which made important arrangements for building a tourism power. Tourism is an important industry related to the national economy and people's livelihood. In recent years, all regions have increased investment in tourism infrastructure, promoted the upgrading of tourism services, and excavated local tourism resources.

The construction of high-speed railway and other transportation infrastructure connects Huangshan, Chizhou, Anqing, Xuancheng and other cities, forming a large tourism economic circle. It also connects with Nanjing Anqing high-speed railway and Hangzhou Nanchang high-speed railway, directly sending tourists to Jiuhua Mountain and the gate of Huangshan Mountain.

The Qinghai Lake Tourist Highway (Phase I) Project, a special tourist highway under construction in Qinghai Province, is about 121.3 kilometers long, and will connect with the West Ring Road later to form a special highway around the lake.

Li Xiaobin, the head of Qinghai Lake Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd., said: "This year we upgraded the 50 km (Erlangjian Scenic Spot) road section with serious congestion, and the driving time in the peak tourist season was shortened from 3-4 hours to half an hour."

To create a high-quality demonstration area of Qinghai Lake, Qinghai Province is promoting the creation of a 5A level scenic spot of Chaka Salt Lake, Jinyintan, Atomic City, and cultivating and developing ecological tourism, ice and snow tourism and other tourism formats.

Cultural and tourism integration along the "Canal" promotes development

A Grand Canal spans eight provincial administrative regions, including Beijing and Tianjin, and once connected different regions. Today, the Grand Canal has become a carrier of cultural exchanges and a link of tourism, driving the economic development along the coast.

In the past two days, in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, "Carrying Thousands of Years -- An Exhibition of Important Archaeological Achievements of the Grand Canal in the New Era" was held in the Grand Canal Museum of China, and more than 240 pieces (sets) of newly unearthed archaeological relics from eight provinces (cities) along the Grand Canal were unveiled.

Now, the upper reaches of Yangzhou's Guyun River are hot "out of the circle", and tourists are flocking to sit in antique boats, listening to explanations while enjoying the scenery on both sides of the canal, becoming the latest way to know Yangzhou and understand the canal.

Focusing on the natural scenery and historical culture along the canal, in recent years, various regions along the canal have launched their own distinctive content to promote the integrated tourism experience of the whole Grand Canal basin. Both sides of the canal beside the Qingming Bridge in Wuxi try to preserve the original ecological style, which converges into the unique canal water culture here; Huai'an draws three pictures of "industry, culture and tourism, and ecology" to promote the mutual promotion between the construction of the Grand Canal cultural belt and regional economic and social development; Suqian cultural landmarks have been "updated" one after another, and the ancient "golden waterway" has shown new vitality.

Meng Aimin, Planning and Construction Management Office of Huai'an Grand Canal Cultural Belt, Jiangsu Province, said, "We should optimize the production, living and ecological space along the Grand Canal and comprehensively promote the high-quality construction of the Grand Canal National Cultural Park."

Scenic spots are an important foundation for tourism development

Tourist attractions are an important foundation for the development of China's tourism industry, as well as an important channel for tourism income generation and tourism employment. At present, 15700 A-level tourist attractions have been built in China, including 339 5A level tourist attractions. The county coverage of national A-level tourist attractions will increase from 73% in 2012 to 93% in 2023, and tourist attractions will become an important support for tourism development and county economic development. In 2023, the number of direct employment in A-level tourist attractions nationwide will exceed 1.6 million, and the total number of employment will exceed 10 million.
