Software engulfs the world, and open source engulfs software. Nowadays, the operation of any commercial company inevitably depends directly or indirectly on open source software, and even the company itself participates in the process of open source collaboration, or initiates new open source projects.   

How to make good use of open source software? How to participate in open source collaboration? How to manage the company's influence in the open source community? How to manage open source projects initiated by the company? How to make good use of the new leverage brought by the wave of open source? This is a question that every commercial company may need to answer in the new situation of open source devouring software.   

In the past, the responsibility for selecting and developing open source software was assumed by the R&D department part-time, the responsibility for publicity and brand building was assumed by the market operation, and compliance and security issues were handled by the legal department and the security department.   

However, the open source community is an organic whole. The problems mentioned above cannot be solved independently by a single department, and even people with the ability to solve problems may be outside the company. How to focus on the theme of open source, coordinate the demands of different departments within the enterprise and different participants inside and outside the enterprise, and use the leverage of the open source community to complete the multi win positive sum game needs professional talents and institutions to answer.   

This is the booming open source office in recent years OSPO Institutions. Google, Apple, Microsoft, Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent, Byte Beat... A large number of well-known companies at home and abroad have set up open source offices or institutions of the same nature to recruit talents, with a view to unified planning from the strategic level, coordinating different departments and forces inside and outside the company, and responding to the challenges of enterprises in the use, participation and launch of open source.
