Martyr's Procurator: Public interest litigation "looking back" helps the protection of cultural relics and cultural heritage to see actual results

In the process of "looking back", the procurators visited the Shishanzi site in Lieshan District. "Shishanzi Site" is located in Gurao Town, Lieshan District, Huaibei City, more than 7000 years ago. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit, and was identified as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2013. As a representative of the early Neolithic culture in northern Anhui, it is of great value to further study the origin of the early civilization in northern Anhui and the whole basin. In January 2023, the Procuratorate of Lieshan District found that because the Shishanzi Site has been left unattended for a long time, there are many trees and weeds in the protection area, and a large number of construction and domestic garbage have been dumped into it. The situation of random construction and man-made destruction of cultural relics is prominent, which has seriously damaged the historical style and cultural value of the Shishanzi Site. Under the overall arrangement of the Municipal People's Procuratorate, the two level procuratorates transferred backbone forces to set up a case handling team. After repeatedly going to the Shishanzi site for on-site investigation and evidence collection, and understanding the origin, historical value and protection status of the Shishanzi site through literature review, visiting surrounding villagers, obtaining materials from relevant administrative authorities, and clarifying the outstanding problems in site protection, Lieshan District Court made and issued inspection suggestions to the relevant administrative departments responsible for supervision and protection, requiring them to cooperate, earnestly perform the management and protection responsibilities of Shishanzi Site, eliminate the hidden dangers of cultural relics protection, and increase the publicity of cultural relics protection. Relevant administrative departments After receiving the procuratorial suggestions, we immediately organized professionals to go to the site to check the site conditions, formulate rectification plans and measures, and invited the procuratorial organ to participate in the supervision throughout the process. In April 2023, the procurators of the Procuratorate of Lieshan District will follow up and supervise according to law, check the implementation of the rectification, and find that more than 170 graves left within the site have been moved, the surrounding accessories have been cleared, and the environmental sanitation has been effectively treated.
