China news agency, Haikou, May 24 (Reporter Wang Ziqian) The first comprehensive geological survey ship for islands (reefs) in China, "Marine Geology No.26", was officially listed in Hainan on May 24 and delivered to the Haikou Marine Geological Survey Center of the China Geological Survey.

The "Marine Geology 26" survey ship is the first new multi-function scientific research ship positioned in the comprehensive geological survey and research of islands (reefs) in China. The displacement of the ship is 1713 tons, the total length of the ship is 63.5 meters, the shape width is 12.6 meters, the shape depth is 4.6 meters, the draft is 3.2 meters, the staffing is 34 people, the self-supporting capacity is 35 days, and the endurance is 3500 nautical miles. The whole ship is propelled by double engines and full turning rudder propellers, equipped with bow thruster and DP1 dynamic positioning system, which has good stability, maneuverability and seaworthiness.

The ship is equipped with 32 sets of advanced marine geological survey technical equipment, including marine engineering drilling system, static penetration system, multiple geophysical survey systems and marine operation support system, which can be used for marine engineering exploration, marine energy and mineral survey, island (reef) natural resources comprehensive survey and other types of investigation and research.

After the ship is listed, it will carry out marine geological survey and research focusing on the comprehensive geological survey of islands (reefs) in the South China Sea, find out the current situation and changes in the location, area, development, utilization and protection of islands (reefs), and master the current situation of island (reef) resources and their protection and utilization.
