Sony is preparing to transplant some PS2 games to the PS5 console and provide new functions.According to the latest news, a game called Star Wars: Clone Wars has been migrated from the PS2 version to the PS4 and PS5, with new functions. These new features include image enhancement, game backtracking, fast archiving, and custom video filters.
Unlike the previously selected "PlayStation 2 Classics" game played through the simulator, this portable version will bring better game experience to players.Especially for some old 3D games, watching them on high-end TV will be better.
In addition to Star Wars: Clone Wars, some native transplanted PS1 games that have landed on PS5 in recent months also provide the same functions (as well as modern additional functions such as trophies), thanks to the efforts of Implicit Conversions Studio. They recently cooperated with Sony to add PS1 support to their cross platform Syrup simulator engine.
It is worth noting that Implicit Conversions recently added PS2 to its list of supported simulator engines, and said on LinkedIn that they are "cooperating with customers to bring NES, PS1, PSP and PS2 games to PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox".Although the company denied or confirmed any information about "using the simulator to play PS2 games on PS5", the latest information implied that the company also participated in the PS2 migration.
It is reported that the transplant version of Star Wars: Clone Wars simulator is planned to be released on June 11.
