Expose that all iPhone 17 systems use LTPO OLED display, Apple or help BOE upgrade technology

Recently, it was reported that Apple may apply LTPO TFT OLED to the iPhone 17 series of all four models. Compared with LTPS technology, LTPO supports low power consumption by reducing leakage current, and is regarded as a more advanced technology.

However, in the iPhone 16 series released in the second half of this year, because BOE's LTPO technology has not yet reached the predetermined level, the industry generally believes that Apple may retain at least one low-end product's LTPS TFT. Nevertheless, considering that the differentiation of the iPhone 17 series is more important to Apple, the application plan of LTPO TFT has not been disturbed.

In addition, there is still no conclusion on whether BOE can supply LTPO OLEDs that meet Apple's requirements. Although JD provided samples to Apple at the end of last year and encountered some difficulties in the delivery of the iPhone 16 series this year, it is expected that the iPhone 17 series will be satisfied. It is said that Apple may provide some form of technical training to improve BOE's LTPO technology.

At the same time, there is also news that Apple may supply OLED to BOE for the entry-level iPhone SE4 and old iPhone models to be released next year. The 6.1 inch iPhone 14 OLED for 2022 is likely to be reused for iPhone SE4.
