Guangzhou will study the concept scheme of the south extension of Shayuzhou Tunnel after opening the underwater channel of Huangpu and Panyu

In February this year, at the seventh session of the 17th People's Congress of Panyu District, Guangzhou, "Lianhua Bay in the East" was written into the government work report for the first time, and together with Wanbo Hanxi District and Guangzhou University Town, it was listed as a major platform and circle of the South Trunk Economic Belt. The planning scope of Lianhuawan District is located in the east of Panyu District, specifically to the south of the Pearl River Back Channel, to the east of Nansha Port Express and to the north of Shawan Waterway, with an area of about 260 square kilometers, including 190 square kilometers of land area, which is equivalent to half of Panyu District.

At present, Lianhuawan District in Panyu District is separated from Huangpu District by a river, and the traffic conditions between the two areas are relatively lacking. With the development of Lianhuawan District, the development of relevant industrial chains in Dawan District, the improvement of the road network in the district, the promotion of the construction of the district, and the initiation of systematic engineering research on the south extension of Shayuzhou Tunnel have also been put on the agenda.

The reporter learned that the Lianhua Bay area has a superior geographical location, is a strategic fulcrum linking the development of the south and north of Guangzhou, a carrying area to undertake the transformation of scientific research achievements in the university town, and an important node to suture the two sides of the Pearl River Estuary. With obvious advantages in talent, ecology and value, it is a value depression in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. From the perspective of location, Lianhua Bay is just embedded in the core hinterland of the Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, which is close to the Huangpu Intelligent Manufacturing Zone and the Haizhu Pazhou Digital Economic Zone in the north, the University Town International Innovation City in the west, the Nansha Free Trade Zone in the south, and the Dongguan Binhai Bay across the sea in the east. It is highly integrated with the top ten science and technology innovation settlements in the core of the Dawan District.

In 2019, the construction of Open Avenue will be launched in Huangpu District in the east of Guangzhou, which will serve as an important channel for south-north traffic in Guangzhou, and will strengthen the linkage between related cores and nodes of Guangzhou in the Guangzhou Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.

The total length of Open Avenue in Huangpu District is 45.6km, which is constructed according to the standard of two-way eight lane. The route is "Shihua Road - Jihuo Road - Kaiyuan Avenue - Yonghe Avenue - Yongjiu Expressway". The "Open Avenue" is connected to the "Shayuzhou Tunnel" to the south, connecting Panyu, Guangzhou South Railway Station and Nansha; It is connected to the north extension line of Yongjiu Expressway northward and closely connected with Baiyun Airport and Conghua area.

Shayuzhou Tunnel Project starts from the intersection of Huangpu East Road and Shihua Road in the north, runs southward along Shihua Road, connects the planned Shihua Avenue in the south bank, and ends at the intersection of Shihua Avenue and the South Trunk Line. It is constructed according to the standard of two-way six lane, with a total length of 5.07 kilometers.

According to the reporter, based on the investigation of the traffic situation in the project affected area, the land use of towns and streets along the line, and the requisition and demolition situation, and in combination with the latest planning and research project line direction and implementation possibility, a scheme for the south extension of Shayuzhou Tunnel that can be implemented in the near future is proposed. The total length of the line is 11.9 kilometers, and the width of the planned red line is 60 meters. Based on the road network between the Shayuzhou Tunnel and the Asian Games Avenue, it is studied to connect Lianhua Avenue and the Asian Games Avenue from the intersection of Shihua Avenue and Nanda Trunk Line to the south to connect Panyu District Asian Games City.

1 Shihua Avenue South Trunk Line node;

2 Shihua Avenue Xingye Avenue node;

3 Shihua Avenue Jinshan Avenue node;

4 South extension line of Shayuzhou Tunnel Lianhua Avenue node;

5 South extension line of Shayuzhou Tunnel - Shilian Road node;

6 South extension line of Shayuzhou Tunnel - node of Asian Games Avenue;

This study focuses on how to use the existing north-south roads and planned roads to form the south extension line of the Shayuzhou Tunnel, which, together with the Shayuzhou Tunnel and the Huangpu District Open Avenue, forms a new north-south transportation artery in the east of Guangzhou, strengthening the linkage between the relevant cores and nodes of the Guangzhou plate in the Guangzhou Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. This time, we will systematically study the road network in Panyu District, especially Shayuzhou Tunnel, Lianhua Road network in the mountain and Asian Games City area.
