On September 27, Gongbei Customs announced that the two items seized by the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Customs under the jurisdiction of Gongbei Customs in the export cross-border e-commerce channel were identified as mollusc cephalopod ammonite fossils, belonging to ancient snail fossils of the same era as dinosaurs. This is the first time that the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Customs has seized paleontological fossils in cross-border e-commerce channels.

In March this year, when the customs officers of Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge checked the cross-border e-commerce packages declared by a company for export through the X-ray machine, they found that one of the packages had an abnormal image. It was found that there were two yellow brown spiral shells in the package, and the shell surface was mottled with color. It was finally identified as a paleontological fossil after identification.

The Customs reminds that, according to the Regulations on the Protection of Paleontological Fossils, those who transport, mail or carry paleontological fossils out of the country shall declare to the Customs truthfully, and submit to the Customs the exit approval documents from the competent department of land and resources under the State Council or the competent department of land and resources under the people's government of the province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government. The customs will, in accordance with relevant regulations, exercise supervision over the exit of paleontological fossils and crack down on illegal exit.
