Understand what a TFSI engine is
TFSI, Its full name is "turbocharged gasoline injection engine", which is the first engine technology of Audi, and has become the standard configuration of Audi models in the European market. This technology adopts advanced technologies such as turbocharging and direct gasoline injection, which greatly improves the power, fuel economy and environmental performance of the engine.
Advantages of TFSI engine
1. High performance: TFSI engine uses turbocharging technology, which can make full use of fuel energy and improve power output. Compared with traditional naturally aspirated engine, TFSI engine has higher power performance.
2. Fuel economy: TFSI engine adopts gasoline direct injection technology, and the injection accuracy of each cylinder is up to 50 microseconds. The fuel can burn more efficiently, which greatly reduces fuel consumption.
3. Environmental performance: TFSI engine has reached the highest emission standard of the European Union, mainly because it uses direct fuel injection technology, which makes combustion more complete, reduces exhaust emissions and greatly reduces pollution.

Model of TFSI engine
At present, Audi mainly introduces two types of TFSI engines:
1. Turbocharged direct injection engine: the engine adopts turbocharging technology and direct injection technology, with a maximum output power of 221kW (300ps) and a maximum torque of 380N · m. It has excellent power performance and is widely used in luxury vehicles.
2. Turbocharged direct injection engine: the engine adopts turbocharging technology, direct injection technology in cylinder and transmission stop start technology, with the maximum output power of 116kW (158ps) and the maximum torque of 250N · m, which is suitable for ordinary middle and low range vehicles.
Maintenance of TFSI engine
1. Keep the engine oil clean: TFSI engine adopts high-pressure fuel injection technology, requires to use high-quality lubricating oil that meets the standard, and replace it in strict accordance with the manufacturer's requirements to avoid failures caused by aging and pollution of oil products.
2. Avoid peculiar smell of air conditioner: TFSI engine adopts compact structure design, which may lead to excessive temperature in the engine compartment, and the air conditioning system will produce peculiar smell when exposed to high temperature. It is recommended to clean the filter element of the air conditioner regularly, and replace the rubber seal of the tire in time to avoid the external dust and impurities from seeping into the contour gap.
3. Pay attention to cooling system maintenance: TFSI engine has high power output and relatively high temperature. Pay special attention to the maintenance of engine cooling system. It is recommended to regularly check the engine water tank, radiator, fan and other parts to ensure smooth circulation of the system, and replace them with regular brand coolant.
Application of TFSI Engine
Since the first launch of TFSI technology in 2000, Audi has been widely used in many models. Among them, the flagship luxury car A8L and medium-sized luxury car A6 all use TFSI V-type 6-cylinder engine. While the medium and high-end A4L, A3 and other models use TFSI in-line four cylinder engines, more entry-level models are equipped with 1.4 TFSI turbocharged direct injection engines.
