1. Jiaozuo Institute of Technology (today's China University of Mining and Technology and the predecessor of Henan University of Technology) is the Jiaozuo Road and Mine School founded by British Fujian Company in 1909, the first mining university in Chinese history, and has experienced important historical periods such as Fuzhong Mining School, Fuzhong Mining Special School, Fuzhong Mining University, private Jiaozuo Institute of Technology, Northwest Institute of Technology, and National Jiaozuo Institute of Technology.
2. In December 1949, the Central People's Government allocated Jiaozuo Institute of Technology to the leadership of the Ministry of Fuel Industry. In March 1950, the newly opened North China Coal Mine College was incorporated into Jiaozuo Institute of Technology. On the basis of the main body of Jiaozuo Institute of Technology, the first mining university in new China, China Mining Institute, was established in Tianjin.
