1. Luliang City is located in the west of the central part of Shanxi Province. It is named because Luliang Mountains run through the whole area from north to south.
 2. It faces Yulin in Shaanxi across the Yellow River in the west, Taiyuan, the provincial capital, in the northeast, and Jinzhong and Linfen in the east and southeast respectively.
 3. Located in the Shanxi Shaanxi Grand Canyon, the terrain is high in the north and low in the south, and leans southwest to the northeast.
 4. It belongs to temperate continental monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, synchronous rain and heat, and sufficient light.
 5. Luliang City has a land area of 21000 square kilometers, accounting for 13.5% of the provincial land area, with a cultivated area of 7.88 million mu.
 6. It now governs one district, two cities and ten counties. According to the seventh national census in 2020, the permanent population of the city is 3398431.
 7. Luliang City is rich in resources. More than 40 kinds of mineral resources have been proved. There are large reserves of coal, iron and aluminum resources with high grade.
 8. Luliang is also a famous production base of liquor, red dates, walnuts and small grains in China. Fenjiu and Zhuyeqing are famous both at home and abroad, and it is the largest production base of light flavor liquor in China.
 9. There are abundant tourism resources. There are 5901 cultural relics and historic sites in the territory, such as Fenyang Xinghua Village, the first village of Chinese famous wine, Xihua Town, "the second grassland in North China" in Lishi District, and Baima Fairy Cave, "the first dangerous cave in North China" in Lishi District.
