Dust explosion belongs to chemical explosion. The destructive power of dust explosion is very strong, no less than the power of bombs. In life, flour, aluminum powder and magnesium powder are easy to cause dust explosion.
1、 Dust explosion belongs to chemical explosion
Explosive dust includes magnesium powder, aluminum powder, blood powder, fish meal, wheat, starch, cotton, tobacco, etc. There are three conditions for dust explosion. Dust explosion can only be caused if three requirements are met. First of all, the dust concentration in the air should reach the standard, and the dust should be suspended in the air to form a dust cloud. Then, it has enough air and oxidant. The dust has strong chemical activity, large contact area with the air, and many oxygen molecules are adsorbed. The heat release process is extremely fast, and will explode when encountering fire source or strong vibration friction.
When the dust explosion conditions meet the standards, if one of the dust particles is ignited by fire, a chain reaction will be triggered, leading to a big explosion. The edible flour commonly used for making fire will also explode. As long as 9.7g flour is contained in every cubic meter of air, dust explosion will occur even if there is an open fire.
