Oppo recently launched its flagship smartphone, Oppo FindX. The device with full screen display and pop-up camera module is the pinnacle of smartphone innovation. However, it seems that Oppo does not intend to stop there. According to a new report, Oppo is developing a smartphone that may have two screens.
It applied to WIPO for the patent of "electronic equipment" on September 12, 2017. The patent was issued on July 12, 2018.
It is a smartphone with a screen filling screen. The dual camera is located on the back of the device. The front camera is missing. However, we see the second screen on the back, which is also a touch screen. The scene captured by the camera can be displayed on this screen.
This patent shows the auxiliary screen located next to the dual camera setup. The screen only covers the top of the rear panel, which means it doesn't have much functionality. It is likely to be used to take self portraits from the rear camera. The report suggests an icon that will allow users to easily switch between the two screens.
In addition, the patent also relates to some specific camera components, which can also be selected through the second display. In addition to the normal photo and video modes, scene mode, night mode and continuous recording functions will also be provided. There will also be self portraits.
We are not sure whether Oppo will consider implementing this design in its smartphone.
