1. The Asian Youth Games is called the Asian Youth Games for short.
 2. Mainly held in Asia, it is the largest comprehensive youth games in Asia and is hosted by member countries of the Asian Olympic Council in turn.
 3. It is held every four years and will be held alternately with the Youth Olympic Games from 2021.
 4. The participating countries are mainly distributed in East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, Central Asia, including China, Japan, South Korea, Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka and other countries.
 5. It is hosted by the Olympic Council of Asia.
 6. The first session has been held since 2009. As of 2017, two sessions have been held every four years.
 7. The International Olympic Committee recognizes the Asian Youth Games as the official Asian Youth Games.

On September 8, 2021, the Chinese Olympic Committee announced that under the influence of the current global new champion epidemic, the Asian Olympic Council, the Chinese Olympic Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Third Asian Youth Games jointly decided to postpone the Third Asian Youth Games, originally scheduled to be held in Shantou, Guangdong, from November 20 to 28, 2021, to December 20 to 28, 2022.
