 With the launch of the new and completely different 2020 version of the cruiser "Corvette Stingray", they seem to have surfaced again. Autoweek reports that Corvette will become an independent brand and will provide cars and SUVs or crossover vehicles.
 It is easy to dismiss this news as a rumor, but the magazine claimed that this news came from an unnamed GM insider. According to the report, GM intends to use the hype surrounding the 2020 Corvette Stingray to launch the Corvette brand, which will bring more benefits than mid engine sports cars.
 This is because from 2023, new brands will launch more profitable models, such as sedans, crossover vehicles or SUVs. According to the same source, the Corvette brand will also be responsible for launching the Corvette based c8 Cadillac sports car.
 The C8 version of Cadillac will be the second model based on the light cruiser after the Cadillac XLR, and the XLR is based on the light cruiser C6. Cadillac C8 can add the black wing V8 engine to the CT6-V.
 In the performance sedan, the 4.2 liter twin turbine unit delivers 550 horsepower and 627 lb ft (850 nm) of torque. This significantly exceeds the Corvette Stingray - 495 hp and 470 lb ft (637 Nm) Z51 packages manufactured by LT2 in 2020.
