In the Final Fantasy XV, Scoville Enix made some major changes to the JRPG formula of franchise. Facts have proved that there may be some greater changes, because Eidos Montreal was once committed to this game.

As early as 2018, YouTube 'SuperBunnyHop' (via GamesRadar) claimed that Eidos Montreal had been making the Final Fantasy XV through its sources. Now years later, the former art director of the studio confirmed this.

In an interview with TrueAchievements, Jacque Bellet ê te, the former director of the art of Eidos Montreal, confirmed that the studio "tried to make the Final Fantasy XV" and claimed that their game version was "very, very cool". At some point in the development process, Skewell Enix chose to bring the development of the Final Fantasy XV back to Japan, while Eidos Montreal turned to other projects.

Little is known about the Eidos version of Final Fantasy XV, but it was previously claimed that the "space opera RPG" is a different direction from the final game.
