Do you want to throw away the seed ball
When raising narcissus, many people appreciate the beautiful flowers of narcissus and feel that narcissus can no longer bloom, so they will throw away the blossoming bulbs of narcissus.
In fact, it is unnecessary to throw away. Narcissus itself is a perennial plant, which can rely on bulbs to reproduce. Narcissus that has already blossomed can still use seed bulbs to continue to grow, reproduce and blossom. However, it should be noted that after continuous cultivation, it may not blossom in the next year, and it should be maintained for 2-4 years before flowering.
How to save seed balls
Preservation of hydroponic seed balls
After the withering of the narcissus, the seed ball can be taken out, the dead leaves and residual flowers can be cut off from the base, and then the seed ball can be dried in a ventilated and cool place, and then stored in a dry place. In September, the bulbs of narcissus can be taken out and replanted.
Choose a sunny place, use fertile and loose soil to bury the seed ball deeply. Be sure to plant it deeper, and place enough base fertilizer and water it frequently. After new leaves grow out, top dressing can be carried out once or twice.
With the growth of the bulb, the new bulb has grown, which can be moved outdoors in the spring, and needs proper shade. In the next year, the same is true. In summer, the bulbs are dug up and replanted in autumn. After three or four years of cultivation, they have the opportunity to bloom again.
Preservation of soil ball
The locally grown narcissus is usually planted in the ground or potted. Cut the withered leaves and flowers from the withered daffodils, and maintain them in the same way as the narcissus. After 2 to 3 years of maintenance, they can bloom again.
