The full name of the Vatican City is "Vatican City Country". Its name comes from the "Vatican Heights" in the northwest corner of Rome. With an area of only 0.44 square kilometers and a permanent population of about 800 people, it is the smallest country in the world in terms of area and population.
The Vatican has neither industry nor agriculture nor natural resources. The domestic production and living necessities are provided by Italy. Its financial revenue mainly depends on tourism, stamps, real estate rental and religious donations.
