1. Yulin Square was first built in the 9th century as a small square in front of Yulin Cathedral.
2. Yulin is the author of the Gospel of Yulin in the Bible. Venetians regard him as the patron saint.
3. It is said that in 828, two Venetian merchants smuggled the remains of the Jesus Saint Mark from Alexandria, Egypt, to Venice, and built a church for Yulin in the same year. There was a tomb in the church. The cathedral was named after Yulin, so the square in front of the cathedral was also named "Yulin Square".
