1. Grafting time.
The grafting of fruit trees must be carried out under the condition of slow flow of sap, so it can be carried out in early spring and autumn. In fact, it can also be carried out in summer, but it is too hot and rainy, and the survival rate is too low, which is not conducive to the growth in summer. The general benevolent fruit trees are mostly carried out in spring, and pomegranate can be carried out in summer and autumn. Stone fruit trees are difficult to graft, so they must be grafted in spring. Pulpy fruit trees, such as grapes and figs, must be grafted in early spring before the sap flows.
2. Grafting methods.
(1) Plug in method.
The fruit trees are cut and the ears are cut 10 cm long. After cutting, there is no time for grafting, and the grafting time is not up, so they may need to be preserved in wet sand. When grafting, sterilize the scion. At the grafting place, cut down the top of the bud, and then take down the bud on the scion and cut it from the top. It is directly inserted on the branch of rootstock. Tie with plastic strips.
(2) Splicing.
Cut the rootstock seedlings about 30cm above the ground, then divide the scions and take the branches full of buds, and then cut the lower end of the root stock to a cut surface. Then cut the rootstock from the place near the cortex, put the scions into the scions, align them with the formation layer, and bind them. After survival, the buds of the scion are full.
(3) Embedding method.
It is also called cross budding method. Cut the trunk horizontally and vertically, then cut the scion directly and put it into the bark slowly, and then use it to expose the buds at the end. In other places, it should be tied tightly and airtight. After that, the original buds of the branches should be removed in time, and the survival should be checked. After survival, the buds will grow well, and if not, they will wither.
4. Precautions.
Some special fruit trees have special grafting requirements and time, which cannot be followed. In addition, different fruit trees can choose the most suitable grafting method. Different methods were used for grafting in different seasons. After grafting, shading, moisture management and maintenance are required to improve the survival rate.
Generally, common fruit trees can be grafted, and the best grafting time is in spring. There are many ways of grafting, sometimes as long as you survive, no matter how. But after accumulating experience, we will know which grafting method is the best.
