1. On April 10, 2013, South Korea Samsung Electronics signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement and memorandum of understanding with Shaanxi Province, Xi'an Municipal Government and Xi'an High tech Zone Management Committee respectively, announcing that the largest foreign investment project in the electronic information industry, the storage chip project invested by South Korea Samsung Electronics (Phase I) of $7 billion, was officially settled in Xi'an High tech Zone.
2. This is the second time that South Korea Samsung Electronics has set up a semiconductor production factory overseas since it entered Austin in the United States in 1996. It is the largest project invested by Samsung Electronics in the history of overseas investment, the largest foreign investment project in the domestic electronic information industry since China's reform and opening up, and the largest foreign-invested high-tech project introduced by Shaanxi and the western region.
