Aliens applying for residence certificates must go through the following procedures:
1. Submit passports and visas for examination;
2. Certificates related to reasons for residence;
3. Fill in the residence application form;
4. When applying for a residence permit for foreigners, they should also submit a health certificate for examination and a recent 2-inch half length, bareheaded, front photo.
[Legal Basis]
Article 9 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit of Aliens stipulates that aliens who come to China to settle down shall, when applying for visas, hold a residence status confirmation form. The confirmation form of residence status shall be obtained by the applicant from the public security organ of the place where he/she applies for residence.
